Nice. Did you have this one a Dave's the last time? I recall playing with the ACOG but didn't pay enough attention to what it was on.

ACOG on an eight pound barrel?? Hows that for swing weight! There should be a little one shot test for those howitzers... ya know, to determine effectiveness in an on demand situation.

I think he can do it. If JonnyP can get to the ground in time, TR can do it too.

Push ups and bench pressing are easier too.

I made it to the ground, but left almost a full second on the clock.

Blondzilla and I were hoping to make either the WA or OR shoot this spring and take a drive around the PNW where we have never been together. Today I learned I will likely be committed elsewhere for the WA shoot dates, so you Orygunners will probably have to put up with us if things go as planned.

Just lock up your good silver & small children and put anything valuable & fragile up on a high shelf, then everything should be fine

Hey, Friends and Shooters

We were talking earlier about "streamlining" the shooting versus the hanging out. The question is about Saturday: do we have two events at once (Drop 15 and Moses Match), or do we have the events in the order / schedule above, which is:

0900 hrs. Drop 15

1130 hrs. Otis61 Long Range Match

1400 hrs. Moses Match

Can we get some votes without putting up a poll? I just want to help get the schedule sorted the way people want to do it.

Well, another way to phrase that question: Do you all want the SEC crowd to win two events over the PNW crowd, or just be able to shoot in one?

Who is showing up from the SEC ?

I have a cold Stella that says you blow this off again....

In fact, we are not certain that you even exist.

The ramblings from " Invictus77" are probably produced by a self-aware spambot that posts pictures of an obscure smartass and his beautiful wife just to oversell the con.

I’m sure it is. But anything that takes 6 hours should have
something else taking up the time.

It may be a good time to post an Attendance thread...

I think we need to know how many are Really hoping to come and participate.

That information's very relevant when it comes to cramming all we want to do into 2 days...

I didn't know where to put this....so it goes right here.

The lucky winner (of what ever event) gets to go home with this padded metric B set.

Just let me know who to send it off to for safe keeping.

197 between Hood river and Madras ia a whole lot of nothing and a waste of time and gas.

You. Must. See. Crater Lake! Really.

On another note, Blondzilla and I are discussing this trip. Still in the air if it is just me to shoot, two of us but just for the shoot, two of us for a few extra days, or taking a couple of weeks and tieing in our WY stuff too. Decisions, decisions.

If we go out for just a few days, any thoughts from you locals about making this lap below or other/better suggestions?

That Highway marked 26 is more scenic unless you are partial to desert like terrain. And you'll go over a real mountain.

I'm not doubting you, but you just confused the sh*t out of Google maps.

Maybe you can't get there from here ????

Excellent, this is the info I am looking for

Just so you know, Columbia River Gorge is one of the "tick boxes" I would like to hit which I why I randomly picked the other route.

Ok, I agree that the Gorge is worth seeing.
In that case you could take I-84 to Hood River and then Highway 35 to the junction with Highway 26 East and then to Bend.

Very scenic.

I disagree.

That is a small bit of the unspoiled West.

I would like to own about 20 sections.

I agree with Terry here. I like that stretch of highway. Most of the time you have it all to yourself.

Last time I was on 26 heading to Bend, I was cruising along round 80ish MPH, when I was passed by a late model Mustang. Just when I convinced myself that a '90's mustang could probably handle that road better than my '67 Coronet, thus deciding NOT to "give chase" and have a bit of fun, I was passed again. This time by a 90's Camaro, black and white, with "Safety Patrol" painted on the side. I'd guess they were both traveling near the 100 MPH mark, and I quickly backed off the throttle to a more boring speed.
That was the most exciting thing to occur on that whole trip. Well, that and the stellar burnout I did in front of my mates parents house when we left for home.

I wouldn't call it "Unspoiled".
Plenty folks have "Been there, done that".

If your looking for remote area, bordering on the edge of "Sustainability", I agree, the lands worth acquiring from that standpoint...And defending it, would definenatly keep a guy up on his long range game..
