I have a problem with Tuscan Raider being part of the "committee"

Not only is he height limited, he also hates Fal's

Other than that, he has my vote

That's vertically challenged, thank you very much.

Don't hate FAL's, just never seen one work consistently.

When you say work consistently, do you mean hit inside 2moa, when fired from the magazine, with ball ammo?

Just putting it out there, there were plenty of FAL fails on the Washington spring shoot, and no AR fails. Statistics gents.

Beg to differ, there were at least a couple AR failures. Not just in knocking down the plates either. Sure, I had a feed failure due to a mag problem, not a problem with the rifle. IJS.

Us Old Guys have seen every form of firearm fail in some manner, sometime.

Usually operator error, but since there are no Operators at these events.......

Dont real operators just transition to a shorter tool, when the longer tool deflects?

We have a toilet reservation from June 20th, thru the bitter end. So, the price went up, again, now $140. Do we got enough shooters coming, to keep the toilet pledge at $5 for individuals and $10 for immediate families? That will be 28 doods, to cover the crapper.

I gotta ask, do any accompanying family members crap twice as much as a regular files member does?

I think I paid you my $5 bucks last year, but maybe I still owe you $10 for Blondzilla's contributions

I'm really glad I shoot a "factory" Century built FAL... It's only had 2 rounds fail to feed in all the years of Washington shoots. I'm scared to clean the damn thing and Jinx it.

Usually we get twice the crap from the family members, cause yanno, camping and there is dirt and why does it stink over there and when can we go home and why do we have to sit in this desert sun and why is it raining now and when is the snow going to stop and are we there yet?? Whether it amounts to any verifiable deposits, is yet to be determined...

I have confirmed an option for the handgun stage, walking and chewing gum. It is sure to please some and concern others. I can/will set up and run the stage. Should someone have a better plan, grab pm and talk it up. Tuscan, wish you were gonna be there to enjoy it. Next year.

So, we are getting a head count of those that cannot come. How about a head count of attendees and their tag--longs.

Snowhawk for 2. I am in and bringing the boy.

I've seen the guys say "Yeah, but there were other failures, too."

Meanwhile, you are correct: there are LOTS of FAL failures at these events. Guys don't clean their guns, don't make sure their mags are (nearly) perfect, use reloads that are only neck-sized, etc.

FALs also are kit guns built on receivers of differing specs than the receivers from the parts kits' factory build. Worn parts from one nation built on new receivers from another nation and/or factory = potential problems.

Apples-to-oranges comparison.

Clean it!! Keep that thing lubed and you'll go another 10 years of Washington shoots with minimal problems.

P.S. - I think it's your excellent choice of magazines and ammo.

I have one of yours, but you have one of mine. Got mixed up a couple years ago. We never traded back yet. Same size, different hole configuration.

Thanks!

I don't think we can drop any steel at the actual site, and if we left it at Terry's place we'd just have to load and unload again. Same problem in a different location.

I'll be there Friday night. I was thinking I could get there by 5pm, but that is going to depend on Jonathan skipping a class. We have no problem doing that for a kid who is getting his grades and has his responsibility level, but he will not do it unless it's the right thing. He'll kill off Health or Whatever no problem. AP Physics and AP Calculus are different things. Since I wasn't smart enough to even *think* about taking those, I let him make the call.

So 6PM is my new ETA. We'll have it packed before he goes to school so we can make it to shoot before dinner.

Otis -

Great. Not sure it matters - unless I"m screwing up your mounting plans.

Hey, Rich and Otis - I've been talking to Terry about the fact that Jason isn't making it, and that we have 'new' events this year. Can we do the Drop 15 at 0800 Saturday morning so Otis can have a morning slot for his Long Range event? Like this...

Friday:

0800 = Shooter's Safety Meeting
0830 = Tuscan Raider Cowboy Pistol Event (normal pistol event)
1000 = Snowhawk Jockey's Dealer's Choice
1200 = lunch
1300 = tdb59's Dos Equis Challenge (aka: The Most Interesting Match in the World)

Saturday:

0800 = 4x401's Drop 15
1000 = Otis61's Long Range Rifle
1200 = lunch
1300 = tdb59's One Shot Challenge (no time limit)
1900 = King Shot

Is that okay with everyone?

Scoped rifle class : 6 inch target at 200 yards.

Those that make the hit will be ranked according to time elapsed.

I will need 4 plates on stands, 3 poppers, and 3 hanging plates on a rack for Dos Equis.

I have in my possession the 2 plates and frames for One Shot Challenge.

I'm doing my thing pretty much like last year. The only thing I'm changing is the hangers at the 200 line to try to minimize the issue we had with targets falling off the hangers.

I got everything I need.

No it's ok with me. You just were asking, and I wasn't sure if you were talking about that one, or a different one, or ones.

The line up sounds great to me.

That ^ is great news. You're on Saturday morning after the Drop 15.

I'm bringing the least amount of steel since we were in the gravel pit in Sisters. Super stoked about that, and I'm stoked to hang out with all y'all.

Good looking schedule. Feels like a quality over quantity approach, this year. Can I recommend that we add a Shlomo Salute, on Saturday, for all arms present? Either 08:00 to kick off or 11:00, to conclude the official gathering at Mike's?

This is a stellar idea, and shows respect for Shlomo by suggesting this as a tribute.

I'm all about a Shlomo Salute. That's a great idea.

I think we need to put it into the schedule here in writing so everyone knows what we're trying to do, and that it means something to several (or most) of us.
