My new AK
Well, sorta. It's a 12 gauge.

I make it a point to never say anything not-nice about peoples' children.

![]() ![]() ![]() I know, I've gone over to the dark side. Bad enough when I got that first wood stock Maadi, but now... At least it's not a plastic pistol!

What stock is that and how well does it work? Particualrly the trigger linkage.

That's the Center Balanced Saiga 12 Spike stock. http://www.cbrps.com/Products.html
It works well. It took a little massaging to get together, but I think that was my fault. I'm kinda impatient sometimes, and it looked like it was an easy fit. It is, if you've got everything in the right place. I didn't have the action completely seated in the base when I tightened it all down, and it tweaked the kit a little. I got it straightened out, and it's going to be fine. My fault, not the kit. ![]() The trigger is a bit funky. I wouldn't be happy with it if I were trying to shoot for MOA groups at 100 yards, but for my purpose it works. This is my house/yard gun, and I can keep slugs within 4" at 25 yards, so I'm happy. ![]() The whole manual of arms is weird. But, I'm fairly new to AK type actions, so that makes it double different for me. I'm getting better, so it's just a matter of muscle training and familiarization. I've only had this thing together for a couple of days, and only had the Saiga for a few days before that. Mag changes aren't real easy, but I'm learning. I can't say how I'm going to like it in six months, but I've got a good feeling about it. Worse come to worse I figure that, for it's mission, I'm not going to need more than 10 rounds anyway. If there are that many burglars, or I miss that many times, I'm in a heap of dung. So, I like it. It's different, and it's not perfect, but it's really easy to maneuver inside the house, and once I get myself trained, the zombies don't have a chance.

Hell , I like it, a shorty 10 rd 12 gage, 3" magnum capable, throwing slugs, that is nasty, maybe one in my future. Just wish mags weren't so hard to find.

I think it looks awesome. As far as mags go for the 12 ga., try finding them for the 20 and .410. . .

Talkin' dat way sometimes too. ![]() Naw, I just figured it was time. A couple of weeks ago I got the notion that I needed a new toy, and with Obama feeling his oats (even before Sandy Hook), I suspected that something was going to happen, so I jumped. It is a fun toy, and it will drive the fudds absolutely nutz at the range. Besides, I always wanted to be a Storm Trooper. I'm thinking about painting it red white and blue! ![]() It's not something I'd drop in the mud, or take to the desert, or even plan to beat on a lot. The trigger bar is outside the action, under a sheet metal cover, so it's subject to jamming if it's mistreated too much. It's not wussy, but it's no FAL or AK (the stock Saiga 12 isn't, even without the Spike kit). Having said that, I remember the riots in Miami, the demonstrations in Bitburg, Germany and Zaragosa, Spain, the aftermath of Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina, and a few other interesting times (yeah, I'm a specialist in wrong place, wrong time). I can't think of anything I'd rather have for those kinds of parties. This is way more handy than a full size shotgun. Considering that my nearest neighbor is 75 yards away, I'm thinking that 00 Buck is the right answer if there's any more eruptions in my life. If I were further out in the country, I'd have more choices. Besides, did I mention, it drives the fudds (and the anti-gunners) crazy? ![]() Maybe it is that shrimp after all...

As far as that AK bullpup shotgun goes, I would suggest not fireing it from your shoulder left handed........

Or maybe it's the shrimp affecting my eyes again... ![]() I was at my not-so-local GS today. They've got a few Saiga 12 AGP 10 round mags in stock, and a couple of neat (somebodies?) surplus bags that will fit 4 of the 10 round mags. The also have Saiga 410 stick mags. AGP, Promag, and he thinks there are some Surefire too. Sorry, no 20 GA mags. I have no idea about pricing. If anybody's looking, you might want to give them a call. If you tell them Hoot sent ya, ya might get a discount, ya might get the tourist price, or they might hang up on ya. Your choice. ![]() WorldwideFirearms Manufacturing, Inc. 228-206-9936 http://www.worldwidefirearms.com
