Century L1a1 Sporter Find

$550 cash and carry at a local pawn shop. Shop owner said the rifle sat for years on the rack, came down from $899. Its fugly with the Bell and Carlson stock. Original barrel with threads cut but it has an Imbel receiver. No "Made in Canada" marking on receiver? Parts are mostly UE marked. Going to send to Mark for the full conversion to Australian L1a1.

Mr hunt, where was the made in Canada engraving? I looked at one the same as yours over the weekend but it had the Mnfg? by Imbel and made in Canada down by where the serial number is on yours. Serial number was in the same place.

The next time I hear "THE RANGE IS NOW HOT", it just wont be the same.

Max tried another question. "What sort of people live about here?"
"In THAT direction," the Jin said, waving its right paw round, "lives a Han: And in THAT direction," waving the other paw, "lives a Ming Hare. Visit either you like: they're both mad."
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Max remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Jin: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Max.
"You must be," said the Jin, "or you wouldn't have come here."

So, you bought a receiver and it came with a free parts kit. Stellar deal there.

Nice score! I recently picked one up myself with a B&C stock and Imbel receiver. Folding charging handle too and inch cut. No mag though. Paid $450 plus tax so just under $500. Found an inch mag at a gun show for $30 so I can at least shoot it. Plan is to find some nice wood furniture for it and shoot it!

Where in IN?

I went to the show at Evansville Armory last Saturday morning. Not a single thing there FAL related. Not a single Garand. Exactly one very overpriced Trapdoor. Plenty of AR uppers, Glocks, knives, peanut brittle and Indian jewelry. Some camo hoodies too if you are into fashion.

I don't go to bars with a cover charge, no matter how good the band or how cold the beer. Local guns shows are about to fall into the same category, and are usually without the hot chixx found at the local bar.
