Discovering you did something stupid years earlier...

Was going through some boxes in storage and came across a Rhodesian chest rig I picked up back in the early 90s. I'd also gotten a bunch of well-used FAL magazines I was gutting the springs and followers from to use in some fresh Aussie L1A1 mag bodies I bought around the same time. Thought the old bodies would fill out the chest rig nicely, but they didn't fit real well with the inch-type lip...so I ground them off. On about 6 or 7.

Looking at them now, I'm really kind of kicking myself....

Uh, I think I'd keep that to myself and drink alone.

There is a member on here selling new lugs so you can spend more time undoing what you have done

I think 308/223shooter is coming to my rescue!

Most of the stupid things I did in my early 20s are nothing but fuzzy memories. These mags were solid, harsh reminders.

I'm hoping to rectify my wrongs.....

YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We have all done stupid things. (Thus divorces)

How rare are those Indian mags? I've never seen one myself, and honestly I'm not sure how to tell British mags from Aussie ones that may have been painted.

British mags have maker's markings, year of production, and NATO 960-series stock numbers. Aussie mags have no markings.

That's very interesting, my friend. I didn't know Godrej was a subcontractor for Indian SLR magazines. Would love to see more pictures if possible. Many Thanks!
