Original L1A1's built on Type 3 Upper Receiver?

Was there any L1A1's, originally built on Type 3 upper receivers?

No.

Early C1 used what is pretty much type 3.

IIRC you have The FN FAL Primer so take a look at UK and Canada

Type 3? Early C1 rifles were more metric type 1 than anything...

No L1A1's or C1's/C1A1's were factory built on a type 3 upper receiver with the exception of inch parts kits built by Century.
The early C1 has a metric designed receiver (EX1) which was manufactured by inch standards.
