BGS variant

Thought I would set up some specific variant image threads that "We" could add to and have a great collection of specific variants for reference.
Any stage of build would be great.

Model "A" variant

Model "B" variant .

I have always found it fascinating to see how the variants evolved during their service life. Like this BGS:

My first exposure to these came when I bought an Early Belgian kit that turned out to be (most likely) a field evolution of an early BGS...

Which led to my fascination with the BGS and thus my current projects...

You are right.
I put a checkered G1 sling since the picture.
I will update my pics sometime soon.... Thanks for pointing that out.

Sometimes I tend to use the same criteria on gun builds that I use when researching for my other hobby, scale model building. The same aircraft during various stages may have got upgraded , degraded , transferred ... ect. The point is , as an example, a rifle might have started with its original wood handguards but they became unserviceable at some point. No wood spares were available so would they stop using that rifle ? Or use a metal, bakelite what ever HG to keep it in service? In the other hobby the ones that only see one possibility are called rivet counters, it's not really an endearing term.

A couple BGS photos for the files:

BGS Model "b" w/ non-horseshoe HGs, Type 1 Entreprise upper, original Type A buttstock, lugged barrel (converted from nice StG barrel by adam762), G1 sling, Belgian surplus mag

Original finish (and lettering) BGS lower w/ matching bolt, & carrier -- a thing of beauty!

I'll add photos as I get time.

DSA receiver, barreled and headspace set by DSA, I had them replace the one piece ejector block at the same time.
The barrel is nothing special, it is probably one of those DSA reject barrels that hit the market a couple years ago.
I would not mess up a pristine STG barrel for this project.
Using ZQ, I was shooting 2 inch, 3 shot groups, at 100yds sighting it in.
I do like the way this rifle handles.

Thanks! That finish is my custom Duracoat mix. I mix Black Oxide and about 25% Matte Blue-Black. Then oven heat to cure.

Thank you! Apex BGS kit #2126, all type A parts in original finish and condition. Adam762 converted Belgian KAL barrel, DSA G1 receiver. Barrel and receiver blued/weathered to match. I don't think it could've turned out much better, I love it.

The images in my above post were saved to my computer so they escaped Photobucket's BS. If I see an image I like I usually save it so I don't have to search around for it later.

No, I have been slacking! I have 4 ready to go, just need to find some time. The rest I still need receivers. I had thought I would go with Coonan BGS receivers, but found the gap on the Coonan's bothered me too much. So I have slowly been gathering up old DSA's.
