Albanian SKS?

Anybody know anything about these? Figured it would be a nice collectable. Was wondering how they shoot compared to other variants of SKS?

Buddies shoots better and isnt frosted in the bore, i think they are kinda rare, low importation

I have a couple of them, bought them when AIM had them for sale. I too think they are one of the more rare SKS out there. To be honest, I don't think I have even shot mine. Did you buy one?

Not yet. Was thinking about it though. Have a lot of things I want that are currently available. Seeing what ends up panning out. If I get what is on the top of my list, no other purchases for a long time and a few of my rifles would be going up for sale. If that doesn't happen, Albanian SKS might be in my future.

I bought one a quite a few years back. I never fired mine. But i do remenber something about problem they had with them. Something was breaking on them may have been a crack recievers

. Do some Gloogle seach on them. I own about 7 different sks and the Albanian i would rate it fit and finish as fair compare to the other sks i own.

Yeah, I remember when they brought those in. They went quick and they really hyped them up about being low production numbers and lower import numbers. A few friends bought some, but they were not new, but still in decent shape. I would rate them as being harder to obtain than, let's say, the the unfired Russian and Chinese ones, but easier to obtain than the East German ones.

They are not rare, but are reasonably scarce.

They are on the lower end of quality in the SKS tree.

I have an Albanian sks and Albanian AK parts kit..the Albanians have the worst craftsmanship of any of the commie weapons producers. Many of the parts appear to have been carved out of a block of steel with a grinder lol. .

There were some decent condition ones that came in a few years back. I just recently sold an all matching one still in cosmo that had been languishing in my safe for at least four years. Finish was about 90% on it and the bore looked new. Wood was VG+. It came with an Albanian sling, chest rig, and buttstock cleaning kit when I bought it from Allan's Armory.

I think the cachet for them is low production number, particularly for the early production late 60's manufactured rifles. I never broke mine down so I can't attest to the level of workmanship invested in it, but it looked as good as any Yugo I've seen from the outside. I was never really fond of the rear sling swivel planted so far forward on the left side of the buttstock...gave me nightmares of ripping a gash in my right cheek upon recoil.
