Since there has not been a war on cash thread recently...

https://www.reddit.com/r/privacy/com...ffered_10k_to/

As the link implies, VISA offered $10K for businesses to refuse to take cash. Before you ask, private businesses can refuse any form of payment they feel like (there is a .gov link in the discussion about that).

Patience, we'll get there (cashless).

We're already there

How many people carry cash for daily business? Sure, gas money and a few other things but how about a trip to Home Depot?

How many people pay their utility bills with cash?

That's funny, they were telling Florida Dorian evacuees to make sure they got plenty of cash out of the ATMs in case of outages. Fools cant wait to multiply a disaster.

Heck, I'm about cash-less now. I put everything I can on the CC. I pay the Barber with cash, and my favorite BBQ stand. That is about it other than the odd firearm transaction.

Actually,,Lots of people pay all their utility bills with cash in lower income areas.
If you see a check cashing or pay day loan place, odds are they take cash utility payments too.

Personally,,I almost always use my CC for everything besides a private personal or very small transaction.
Hell,,,why not,,,they actually PAY me to use it with points for cash or free stuff.
I usually get $500. for 50k points every few years.
Its really easy,,just pay your bill in full every month and be smarter than the average bear,,,,

Yep, people will say it is playing with fire. The one time you miss a month they nail you and eat up all your rewards. Well, I missed ONE payment by a couple of days over a mistake (mine and their computer) and when I pitched a fit they waved the interest and fees. It pays to be a good customer. I have built two houses and remodeled a third on the CC, they are making good money on their little percentage on my purchases.

I use cash fairly regularly. I have customers who pay cash. I do not get any hassles for depositing cash. I try to keep a stash of cash just in case. I would feel like an idiot paying for a cup of coffee or a McD cheeseburger with a card, but I see it all the time.

About the only time I pay with cash is at the 'touchless' car wash. Everything else goes plastic. I bought a Honda generator using the rewards given by the card. It paid for some other stuff, too. We pay it off monthly and avoid the interest normally charged.

It bothers me that someone knows every purchased, where I purchased it, and when I purchased it. But the convenience is addictive.

If your traceable purchases are LEGAL; Why fear them?

Who cares?

Oh!, you might have bought a bump stock on the CC.

So what?

There are laws against Ex Post Facto laws and you probably sold it or destroyed it anyways.

The only time I use cash is when I cannot use plastic.
