1919A4 Dilema....

My CL 3 guy just called, he had an estate to make a bid on for MG's and wanted me to bid the handguns he was not interested in. Then he casually mentions that there is a 1919A4 in the lot with spade grips and a tripod. A 1919 has been on my bucket list for quite a few years now. Unfortunately, I just don't have the coin to pony up. I have a semi with a crank and '06, .308 and 8mm barrels with lots of spares. I also have a few MG's that mebbe I don't need so bad. So I'm thinking about trading a Jap Type 99 and a Stemple 76/45 towards it, selling the semi 1919 with a .308 barrel (1 of 3) and the crank and coughing up the remaining couple of k's to make it happen. I think the 1919 makes more sense than having the T-99 around and I know the 1919 better. I think I am settled on this decision, what says the clan?

Thanks,

krf

Buddy got a 1919a4 in 308 almost 2 years ago. LOTS of fun, but his M16 gets more use.

Vid of my son shooting it. http://www.gruv.org/aj-mg.mov

I say go for it if you can afford it.

Looks like a done deal. I got the handguns and I will be trading a Jap Type 99 with 7.62x39 conversion and a Stemple 76/45 for the 1919A4. I will be able to put eyes on it this weekend. Ramo sideplate from what I understand.

Well, the 1919A4 is a done deal. Turns out it is a brand new never fired Ramo sideplate gun with a sit behind ground mount. I will be selling my Semi 1919 with a complete .308 set up + Emory crank, no tripod, with all of the semi internal spares I have which is at least 1 bolt and 1 lock frame and a sear or 2. There is one member here who has dibs, so I will give him right of first refusal, then I will post it in the Market. Looking very much forward to lighting this thing up!!

Can't go wrong with the Ramo guns. Three of there former employees are personal friends of mine. They were there from start to the end. The owner Pony Mapples was a great guy. He owned two of the original 50 cals from the B24 Lady BE Good in his personal collection.
