WTS Imbel SAR-48 Para (pre-ban) *Price Reduced $2,400 - updated Pics/Info*

Selling a 100% original pre-ban 1971/1972 IMBEL Para FAL SAR 48 MATCH with roughly 50 rounds through it for sighting in, in great condition. I saw either 1971 or 1972 when I took off the handguard, can't remember which, if it is important to you, PM me and I'll take it off again and confirm which year.

New info as of 1/29/18: Per feedback in this thread, I've removed the railed top cover and replaced it with the original, as well as putting the original carry handle back on the rifle. I was not able to remove the magpul stock, and I believe you will need an impact driver or a vice (I have neither) to be able to get the bolt loose. I am including a 3/8 bit in the sale which has been ground to fit the stock screw, which gunplumber has indicated he has used with an impact driver to get the screw to easily come out. I don't have an impact driver, tried with just a ratchet and no dice, but again, I didn't have a vice to put it in either. In my attempts, I've marred up the screw pretty good (as pictured), but otherwise this rifle is in great shape! I've lowered the price accordingly.

This rifle comes with all of the original parts (the original stock is included, but as per the above note, will not be on the rifle), as well as the attached telescoping/folding stock, a DSA rail top cover and hardware, and a Slocat carry handle slot filler piece, if you want to take the handle off.

Minor wear at the ejector port which is standard on FAL rifles. (1/29 Update: marring at the stock screw as well, as shown in picture).

What you get:
- Imbel SAR 48 MATCH Para FAL with original handle and original top cover, with Magpul folding and telescoping stock attached, as pictured
- Original cleaning equipment in the pistol grip
- Original para folding stock (not attached)
- DSA rail top cover and all mounting hardware (not attached)
- Slocat Carry Handle Slot Filler (not attached)
- One 20 rd magazine (pictured)
- Stanley Proto J5244 3/8-Inch Drive Drag Link Socket, 11/16-Inch, ground to fit the stock screw

Payment via USPS money order only, shipment after receipt of payment. This is a pre ban rifle, buyer is responsible for knowing their local laws. Shipment to your preferred FFL at buyer's cost. I am near Philly if anyone would prefer to buy face to face.

New pictures below:

Price reduced to $2,400

This is now cross posted to another rifle forum, as well.

Nice rifle. When posting elsewhere along with an ad here, it's proper and good form to announce in the ad here that you have cross posted the item. The general rule here is that if someone wants the item, then post in the thread, "I'll Take It". That usually trumps all else and keeps clear the proper buyer rather than someone asking questions (hoping to reserve the item, maybe) or PM'ing a deal, rather than in the post itself. That's why it's very important to make a quality ad and keep up on it as a seller to make sure it don't get messy. To put photos in the thread, simply go to your Imgur account and click on the photo, then go to the right side and pick a size (Large works well), then copy and paste it here in the post. Good luck in the sale.

I think you would have better luck selling that rifle in the original configuration.

Really guys? I don't really get why that would be....Wouldn't anyone who wanted it in the original config just buy it and switch out the original parts which are being included in the sale? Not a huge deal for me to relist it, but I'd have to switch out the parts, take new pictures, upload them, re-post, and I can't imagine why it would matter...Not saying you are wrong! Just that I don't get it.

The guy (buyer) you are looking for at the price you have on the rifle is a "purist" and as such will be looking for an original config. Yes it comes with it, but you'd be better served if the image in the reader's mind after reading this is of the real deal. Those plastic parts are an insult to that fine rifle. Just my opinion.

Got ya - okay. Thanks for input all. Going to leave as is for a week or so and then if no takers, will put the original parts on it and re-list.

I'm curious that you mention only 50 rds fired. I have a bush rifle with more rds than that fired and it doesn't look as worn as the one in this pic below. It looks to be all there but that chewed up screw and the way it's worn you may want to drop the price a bit around here. That's a collector gun these days but a collector wants a more premo example. I'm just trying to help out and not dising your rifle as I wouldn't mind having it as a shooter. GLWS

99% sure I'm correct about the 50 rounds. I took it out once, ended up having back surgery, and haven't taken it out again, gun + the gear is too heavy for me to mess with, with my junky back.

Edit: out of town today but will see if I can get a better picture of that area, might just be the way the light is reflecting.
