Looking for charging handle
Anyone have a spare charging handle(factory or aftermarket) for the K2/DR200 ?
A customer had his factory handle crack off. |

My original split like many others. I bought the replacement big knob from Derek. That was POS. I finally had a machine shop make one out of steel.
Don't really know how much it cost as it was in lump with a lot of work on several different jobs. Really doesn't matter as now it;s fix for good. James ![]() ![]() ![]()

I wish it was only the plastic that broke off, it was the metal that broke on my customers charging handle.
Your steel knob looks pretty good. Quote:

I really don't know how hard they are to come by but I know if a empty case hits the original just right it splits it into two even pieces. The non factory replacements I don't think are very good at least mine wasn't.

Can someone with one of the broken charging handles from Derek please post a good picture. There was an early style which was before my time and a later style that I produced for him. I'd like to know which version failed.
cheers, c |

I'll take a picture of the one I have that's made it through at least 5k rounds of moderate to hard use training classes. It's held up splendidly.

that's one of mine, thank you for posting the picture. The ones that I made mimic the shape of the oem handle but are larger. The earlier ones that I did not make were more barrel shaped and had two grooves machined into them rather the single wide narrow waist of the oem style. Glad to hear that yours is holding-up well. Derek tested the ones that I made with a few hundred rounds of full-auto fire to make sure that they would be sturdy enough before he started ordering them for sale. (He's an SOT) I'm still hoping to see some broken ones to make sure that all failures were the early style. Those are probably not as strong as the ones I did since they were made in a completely different way. cheers, c |

I get the occasional request for the charging handles, let us know when you have more made so I can refer them to you.
Since you are going to make them I won't bother ![]() -Josh Quote:

It would be nice to have a spare in case the original breaks.
