I have a C2 build but was missing the large sling swivel.
I sold a few of my spare C2 bipods at some the gun shows a few years ago.
I ran across a few new wood pieces for the legs they are in the wrap lying in a box somewhere in my work shop.

I'm kinda' on hold on this project. Other things taking my time right now and I'm waiting on a cutter for the retaining washer groove. Other than that, it fits just fine.

It might be a sweet shooter but that’s a lot of time, effort and money just to shoot a heavy AK caliber. It would be cool as ammo would be cheaper than .308 but I still want an L4 Bren in 7.62 x 51 mm. I would never spend money on a AK caliber Bren but that’s just me. Now if someone could figure out how to make a reliable Bren 7.62 x 54 R conversion and magazine, I would probably buy that.

Today, I got in a woodruff key cutter and chucked it up in my lathe. I installed my tool post grinder and thinned the woodruff cutter to the required. .090" and kept it cool as it got ground. The teeth did not discolor and I could touch it throughout the process telling me that it did not get too hot. I then cut the "working prototype" muzzle device and it worked/timed perfectly!

The retaining washers that I have on hand vary ever so slightly, so I'm glad I cut the slot ever so slightly tight (.090"). If needed, a retaining washer could be thinner slightly to accommodate a snug fit. Well, anyway, that's one more process down and a little closer to the final product. All that is left is to drill the timed holes in the circumference and this is done.

That's the only pic for now, but more to come. Off to bed and up for work early...................

Time consuming. But, when I'm done I'll have a working copy and the tooling to make a few more.

Love it!

Have you consider engraving a toilet plunger on it so people know it is not the original?

I had a little time in between motorcycle work, regular work and the family so I made my L2A1 bipod pin as something, even if small, to keep this project going. I'm gonna ask, does anyone have a Malayan serialed lower that they may part with? Just askin' early, ya know.

The muzzle device timed perfectly to the barrel's slot! An early mock up pick with it's NOS lower. One thing I have to do yet is drill the holes in the muzzle device.

You're a lucky man! I'm in the hunt for one of these as well.. I've even debated just buying a complete rifle when one comes up rather than trying to find this one part.

Are you going to drill all the holes in your muzzle device to match the one above?

Yes, on my next days off I plan to drill it, then parkerize it. I parkerized the rifle Wednesday afternoon and it looks great.

I need to find a carry handle and a NOS Aussie .260" locking shoulder and it will be good to go, but work has been very busy and I have not really had time in the shop lately.
