CZ 550 Mauser actions all but discontinued?

Hardly anything in their catalog or website - all push-feed designs now.

Dayum! Guess you're right.

quoted from GunGeek, and I agree with his assessment,

"CZ Western Series Sonoran
550 FS (Full Manlincher Stock)
557 Sporter (cut rate, cheapie rifle that looks like chit)
557 Sporter Mmanners (same as above, uglier with synthetic stock)
557 Sporter Short Action (push feed, short action...but not hideous to look at)
557 Sporter Synthetic – Push feed synthetic, even uglier
CZ 750 Sniper
CZ Ultimate Hunting Rifle – Very nice rifle, competitively priced… .300 WinMag only
550 Safari Classics Express – VERY nice rifle, but a bit heavy for mountain hunting
557 Urban Counter Sniper
557 Varmint"

Other than the heavy hitters in the Safari series, the 550 FS is all that's left. Don't know what "Western Series Sonoran" is, will have to check that out.

I am particularly fond of my 550 FS 6.5X55, but would like to pick up a 550 American someday in .280/7MM Rem Express or thereabouts. Have little use for .375 H&Hs and up, no Elephants have been seen hereabout in quite a spell.

Seems all Bolt rifles have been reinvented with either short barrels or 2 1/2 footers. Of course they must be threaded, have at least a 10 round DBM, and forget the nice old fashioned wood stocks, we now have a "Chassis" that requires a complete set of 1/2" sockets plus a Hex assortment to get it to fit like the wood stock did.

Another fine tradition down the drain.

The FS are gone now also.

Same here, I now have 3...an American in .308, a FS in .243, and I picked up a Varmint in .308 to round it out when I saw the writing on the wall about the 557s becoming their flagship bolt action. Nice that the 10rd box mags (pricey!) all interchange.

10 round mag was the first thing I bought for mine.
I think the 750 is still going to be offered, I wouldn't mind one of those but that's a bit out of my price range for now.
