Exclamation FALfiles Not Secure?

Why does my Safari browser say FAL files is ďNot SecureĒ on every page?
I donít recall it being that way until recently.
Does it need some new security protocol implemented?

You get a warning because FAL Files uses http protocol instead of https.

Read all about it at https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/281633

The biggest reason for a site to use https is if the site is if the site itself receives credit card information.

The only function on FAL Files that has to do with credit cards is the "subscription" link.
See http://falfiles.com/forums/payments.php

That link re-directs the user to an https site (paypal or authorize.net) where the user enters the payment information.

No payment information is collected on FAL Files.

So basically, conversion of FAL Files to https would be a whole shitload of work for no benefit.

Don't use the private messaging function to share sensitive information.

Hackers could see whatever you post anywhere on the site, even if you think "nobody else can see it."

I doubt hackers are mining the PM's here in hopes of getting credit card information, but I still wouldn't put it in a pm.

Good advice -- thanks, Gary.
I never thought about the "Private Messages" NOT REALLY being private!

Sorry mate, this is the "net" where nothing is private.

Yeah, I just started seeing that too. It seems that started after the most recent updates to Safari were installed.

I guess I am the odd duck that says encryption in websites is a good idea.

Just as I feel about end to end encryption in emails

It’s certainly not a BAD idea.

Unless it crashes the whole site and loses data when something above the IT competency level jumps up.

Not that I would ever accidentally delete the whole Marketplace forum, or something that disastrous. Only a dumbass would do that.

So being doxed or cross referenced in public via using your real name in a post on here has caught my attention......I would suggest that no one use their real name here or allow anyone here to use it either. Comments made here could affect your employment if you happen to work for a liberal company....ijs
Also donít use emails or phone numbers in open posts. If the system gets hacked and they get info from pms thatís bad too. Keep your inbox cleaned up.

I'm sure it makes the top 100 or so on the list of NSA subversive sites to monitor. Till you go through a VPN, I'm thinking it's very easy with IP addresses to get back to the originator.

Gary, thanks for the heads-up and the links.

Here are a couple programs that were used at one time to gather info.

x-keyscore, prisum, immersion and a favorite of gamers, optic nerve, keep
your camera covered with that one,LOL. BTW you may need to use Tor with
duck-duck go search to read about them.
