Oh this is my match thread...sorry...we are on MP2 as usual, so nothing past 100 yards.

I have seven mags that will run at least 5 rounds each without flow.
I have a riFAL that will shoot 7 different mags and 50+ rounds without flaw.
I have a riFAL with a scope that can make 3" groups at 100 yards.
I have all the above and can see no reason it cannot do so in two weeks.
I have proved all the above, just this afternoon, to my satisfaction.

My riFAL is good.........if I can just do my part.

Please do not make me take the trophy back home

Today's test fire and zeroing went better than expected. Either a good cleaning, a little less barrel torque (I trued the receiver working on the other project), or a different flash hider (or dumb luck) knocked 2 MOA off the old girl, so I'm calling her good. She's still not the prom queen she used to be, but she'll always be MY prom queen.

I'm as ready as I'm gonna be -

This is from the bench. The riFAL can do it's part of the equation.

For me, it is a plastic picnic table from Rural King with a twin rail Lead-Sled. It lets me put boolits on the target and see what the riFAL can do, rather than just scattering boolits around downrange (in a somewhat random but much more meaningful and spiritual pattern) which happens when I put myself more into the equation (which you have and will witness)

I am 'OK' with them.

Got one more to finish as it was the test piece and I did it all wrong the first time as usual.

I'm fully committed now. Just trying to decide exactly which syle of 'stache to trim down to for the match, and if my boonie hat is close enough or I should order a real SADF hat.

Not shitting - just trying to keep the smack talk in the right place. This thread looked so lonely over here with no posts. Legion is over, and now it's time to focus on the best FAL match in the country!

Sarco has all the goodies...I know this because I just ordered a beret, cap, and shorts.

But I *did* screw up and shave yesterday...no more and cancelled the hair cut.

Now I need some grecian formula.

This is funny because I am fulfilling two of Eowyn's requests in a single event.

The more I look at photos, the more I realize that i'm not going to match the Awesome of Rhodesian or SADF scouts.

Not one person wants to see me in those little shorts. They are great, but I may go with a slightly more 'modern' version. I will, however, try to rock some old canvas sneakers. I've don't think I've ever actually owned a pair of Chuck Taylors.

I've never done re-enactment before or got a uniform together. I've already screwed up one purchase because I bought a Nutria bush hat (SADF boonie) when I thought I was headed towards Rhodesia. Then I was happy to read some Rhodesian vet state that people used SADF gear all the time, and that there was *no* standard or normal kit.

I really want to buy SADF pattern 70 gear. Won't spend $250 to get it, because I don't care *quite* that much - indicated in part by the fact that I'm not going with 1970s nut-hugger shorts...

Oh - mine is totally not going to be "correct" in any way. I'm just trying to reproduce the overall impression I get from looking at old pictures with stuff I already have laying around. It's a little sad (or awesome?) that I can totally pull off a late 70's look and all I've had to buy is new underwear. Pretty sure the Scouts just go commando, but I'm not man enough to do that with a full day of chasing competitors across the field ahead of me.

Lisa is giggling already about the thought of lining us all up in a prone position and taking our picture from behind. Ten bucks says Nuttz has a wardrobe malfunction and she gets too embarrassed to take the pic.

Ha-ha!!

Pretty sure every person operating in a high temp environment goes commando.

Yeah - I'm getting the laughs from Jonathan who, for some reason, can't wait for me to show up at home with a mustache.

I ran the run & gun 5k in palladium boots.
they are super light weight, but do not have any arch support. They are fairly cheap on amazon if y'all are looking for a oldschool shoe
