I Drank the 10mm Koolaid Again, and I liked it...

I picked up a G29 a few years ago. Shot it a few times. It was OK. It's a glock. It shoots. It's black. Yawn...

Fast forward to a couple days ago. Found an EAA Witness in 10mm at a decent price. So I ordered. I've had the EAA 10mm on my brain for a while. but I've been reluctant to order one. The last EAA i handled at a gunshop had a loose front sight which gave me pause as to quality. But here lately, EAA seems to have a good reputation so I decided to give them a try. If it don't work out it will be posted for sale on GB or some such.
I hope to get it in next week.

Anybody playing with the EAA in 10mm?

I picked this new one up late 2017. A full size steel witness 10mm. Swapped out parts for:

Henning group - cone fit recoil rod
Wolff Springs - 18# recoil spring

Henning group - Extra Light firing pin
Wolff Springs - Extra power firing pin spring

EDC ammo is Buffalo Bore 180 gr JHP.

Zero issues with function and fit. The wonder finish rubbed smooth in some spots from holster wear, but no issues otherwise.

I have thought about a Witness in 10MM, but ammo cost and availability has held me back so far.

Have found S&B plinking ammo locally for $.36 cents a round.

Not too bad in the scheme of things.

Ammo is not as bad as I thought.

I cannot afford the ultimate CZ style 10MM, a Bren Ten, but maybe there will be an EAA Witness in the future.

I have read claims about frames or slide cracking on the 10MM Witness models, has anyone heard or seen this?

EAA Witness match and up are phenomenal guns, welcome to the 10mm club. Love my glock M40, 16rds of 10mm goodness is a hard gun to beat. My next will be a EAA Stock III...looks like a winner! Ammo wise, i reload so that helps a ton and i can tailor my rounds to any velocities i want. Also, Speer just brought out a 200g gold dot, not too shabby.

I picked one up from an individual locally about 2 years ago for $325, all steel, full-sized, looked like a safe queen. Damned nice shooter. Have the 9mm upper I picked up for a song later. I've got about $450 in it total!.

I've had a long love affair with CZ-75 knockoffs though, mostly Tanfoglio/Witnesses, with a couple of BDEs in the mix as well, plastics and steels. Just sold the last unfired plastic .40 I had. I have a "Tactical" Witness from when they first started calling them that (vs the "TZ-75), serial number in the double digits, and LONG before "tactical" was ketchup for all operators operating operationally. It was the old pre-'07 small frame, in 9mm, factory ported, semi-compact. Every girl that has ever shot it has asked me if I'd sell it to them; wife did too. She won .

As to the post-'07 large frames... the ability to slap another upper in .22, 9mm, 38sup, .40, 10mm, and .45 is great. Like your AR. Pull a pin, slide the top end off, slide another caliber on, change the magazine (don't even have to do that if 40-10mm swap!) and play. 30 seconds or less if you are practiced at it. I play with the 9, carry 10 as my backup when tracking piggies. Loads of fun for a great price point.

I have some 10mm's, but do not shoot them often. Once fired brass comes up from time to time at auctions and usually can be had rather cheep. I have a Colt Delta Elite and a Smith 1006. I just picked up a Glock 20 but haven't fired it yet. The Smith 610 wheelgun is more of a safe queen. I shoot the 1006 the most of all of them, it is big and not unpleasant to fire.

The Glock 20 was my very first gun. 10 mm is all well and good but you need to get full power rounds in order to really experience it. Or load to those specs anyhow. Even still, it’s somewhere just north of 357 So nothing special. At this point I’ve graduated to a deagle or big wheel gun for backcountry protection. I still use it in winter though.

I'm teetering on the 10mm edge. I had a Glock years ago and don't remember why I sold it. It was a great gun. I love 357 S&W revolvers but what makes the 10 shine is ammo capacity and quick reloads.

I just picked up a 1076. This thing is a tank but surprisingly smooth and refined. I'm going to have to CCW it soon before it gets too warm to wear a jacket.
