A non-NFA 9mm Carbine... Nato style. Range Report post 14

Basically it's an MP5, with the front end stretched out to to something similar to an Hk93. I always hated the way the Hk 94's looked like the MP5's mentally challenged cousin.

Weight: 7 Lbs 2 Oz
Length: 36"
Caliber: 9mm
Trigger pull: a clean 5 lbs

I gathered all the bits, and did some of the lathe work. The final lathe work, and all the welding and assembly was done by PCS (and they did a excellent job).

Interesting and nice work. Never expected to ever see wood on a MP5 type gun.

I have gotten that response from a few people, they look ok for me, however it may be that my monitor is adjusted differently to most. I will take different pictures tonight after I get back from the range with it, and will post the up.

It's a custom job, contact parabellum combat systems and ask about a CMP 34, Jeff is a great guy and will walk you through it.

Yeah,

Special Weapons sold rifles very similar but with all black HK furniture. Looked like an HK 93 that shot 9mm. Cool way to avoid the stupid huge fake can I have on my MP-5 clone.

Ok, it's range report time. I did screw up and brought more ammunition than targets, so yea.....

Firing in progress pic

90 rounds, 25 yards, standing, rapid fire.

My crap attempt at Kentucky wind age
90 rounds, 25 yards, standing, rapid fire.

So after 300 rounds, I can honestly say that it is an insanely fun rifle, I let two other guys fire it as well, they both had the shit eating grin.

As with anything I found a few things I will have to get sorted out.

1. Need to replace the trigger return spring, the one in there came out of an old G3 kit... so yeaaaaa

2. I will need either more MP5 mags, or a mag loader, likely both after loading 300 round in an hour... my thumbs are sore

3. I need to find my sight tool, it's around here somewhere....

4. Will need an imperial shit ton of 9mm ammo. This rifle eats it like a nothing I have seen.

5. I need to get it a proper case, if anyone has any suggestions for something let me know. It's 36" long

I went down a number of rabbit holes on this one, so I ended up with a bunch of extra stuff. If I was going to do it all again (which I am) the parts shopping list would come to 1542.70 + Shipping, and whatever price you work out with your gunsmith (I would highly recommend Parabellum Combat Systems).

Here are the shopping lists.

How does it run at 100 yards?

I had some IMI 147g that shot 100Y very well with a 16" barrel.

Totally cool! and how I intend to build my 9mm someday.
But, HK already built these back in the day as the HK-34

That's a beautiful rifle and excellent work. The HK bug or virus is as bad as any FAL or L1A1 and your post only makes this worse.........

That is the coolest HK build I've seen yet. I'm a big fan of pistol-caliber carbines, and this one takes the cake.
Where'd you get the wood?

That's awesome. Must have. Really.

What do good gunsmiths short of Investment Grade Weapons charge to replace the cocking tube and move the triple frame on completed HK clones?

As a California resident forced to lay in a lifetime supply of modern sporting rifles before January 1st, 2017 I bought a December 2000 Special Weapons SW5 HK94A2 clone.

While excited to own a roller-locked 9mm I can shoot at the indoor range 5 minutes from my home, the short fore-end with 16" barrel combination is aesthetically challenged. We're not allowed to have SBRs here, and a fake can would be too cheesy.
