I want the 10-22 Mag back !
Hey guys,
whoever on the FAL files likes the 10-22 Magnum ( .22WMRF ) , I'd like you to call, email or fax Ruger to bring it back, maybe on a limited production run. As of late August of this year, I'm the very happy owner of a 10-22 Takedown, and my prime choice would be a 10-22 Mag Takedown. I've already mailed Ruger's CS Dept., and I believe if we could get a reasonable number of requests together, maybe Ruger will hear us and run some. ![]() Pete |

Magnum Research, Inc.® introduces newly re-engineered Semi-Auto Magnum Lite® MLR .22 Win Mag Rifle Series
Model: MLR22WMH Model: MLRS22WMBP Pearl River, NY – USA based Magnum Research, Inc. (MRI), introduces their newly re-engineered Magnum Lite MLR22 Win Mag rifle series in a semi-auto configuration. The USA manufactured Magnum Lite series includes 6 models; 2 with an 18” stainless steel barrel, and 4 with the patented Magnum Lite exclusive 19” graphite barrel. The graphite rifle barrel utilizes uni-directional graphite fibers parallel to the bore axis, resulting in a barrel with 6 times the stiffness of the equivalent weight of steel. The lighter barrel is easier to handle and dissipates heat up to 43% faster than steel. The result is rimfire performance with extreme accuracy. Features include: an 11-degree muzzle crown, a weaver-type rail for optics in a black anodized finish, and a patented gas system and block under the barrel that taps a small amount of gas through an orifice hole in the barrel. The result is higher efficiency and improved accuracy when using 40 and 50 grain loads (30 grain not recommended). The one-piece CNC-machined receiver with integral scope base has been manufactured utilizing 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum. MRI bolts are manufactured and machined from heat-treated and thoroughly hardened 4140 steel, with minimum head space for better accuracy. Engineering changes have also been made to various springs and the chamber, resulting in one of the most reliable semi-auto .22 Win Mag rifles on the market. All models utilize the 10/22® trigger group and 10/22® rotary magazines. Other options available among the six Magnum Lite MLR models include: thumbhole stocks on the Barracuda Nutmeg, Barracuda Pepper and Barracuda Forest Camo. The MLR Hogue® comes in an OverMolded™ black stock, and the stainless steel barreled model can be purchased in either the Hogue OverMolded black stock or Barracuda Pepper stock. The weight of the graphite barrel model in the MLR22 series is less than 5 lbs. and an overall length of 35.5 inches (38 inches on the stainless steel model and just over 7 lbs). Prices range from $727 to $935 depending on the model. For questions about this release, please contact Sheryl Gallup at gallupmedia@comcast.net 10/22® is a registered trademark of Sturm, Ruger® & Co. Inc. |

Now that you know it costs as much as an AR-15, and ammo is about 18 cents per round (and non-reloadable of course), remind me why this is attractive?

Great post, but where are you getting 22 mag for .18/round, mailorder? Most place around here are at least .24 and up per round.

I just did a Google search. I don't know if the place I saw it advertised actually has any in stock.

Are they still doing the M77 in .22 mag? Buy one of those. I love mine. I ran a boatload of ammo through it before it got stupid expensive to shoot .22 mag.
With the price of ammo now you should look at some of the other options. You could prly step up to a much better cartridge without spending significantly more on ammo costs.

Ruger sucks, i been e-mailing them bout two to three times a month for years begging them to bring back the old model vaquero fames and/or the damn 44-40....but they keep saying " they thank me for my suggestions but dont forsee it in the near future."
...but they did bring out the nice 10-22 magazine, i guess thats something.

FWIW, the 10-22 mag I had would make a mini14 seem like a precision target rifle
![]() Their M77 might be better, I never tried one. Their 22Hornet in the heavy barrel version shoots well (sub moa, with occasional 1/2 moa) but requires a bunch of attention to both rifle and reloads to get it that way. Just My $.02 Cheers, YV |

I emailed Ruger to try to get them to make a 22 mag Charger. No response.
On another note, this week I purchased an Excel MR22 .22 mag bullpup rifle. I had heard some bad things about them but bought one anyway, thinking if something was wrong with it I could tinker with it enough to fix it. Glad to say I went through 6 magazines at the range yesterday without a hiccup! Used both CCI and Winchester ammo with no problems. If you are a 22 mag fan check these out.

A Ruger Charger in .22 Mag would be up my alley too.
Maybe I'll build one myself. |

I'll do it the easy way. Here's the web site: http://www.excelarms.com/
They make other interesting models, too.

![]() The CZ outshoots the Ruger even with the shorter barrel.

Now that rifle is a bute! I love the euro look and I know for fact how accurate CZ rifles are. I purchased my daughter a single shot .22LR CZ bolt rifle and its a tack driver even out to 200 yards.

Have you thought about making one from a 80% receiver blank???
Since it's not a rifle to start with, you can make that .22mag "Charger" style pistol without any paperwork. If you want it for personal use, and don't intend to sell it there is little or no government documentation issues. While it will cost a bit more for the first one, once you get the jigs and tools the second, third, etc. get reasonable. https://ruger1022receiver.3dcartstor...ack-_p_41.html |

Blackmore, where did you get that sling on the CZ? Really nice-looking and functional piece of kit.
