The only other 5th weekend is in June, we did that once and it sucked.

Every year I make someone unhappy.

Oh, just FYI.

2018 action stage will be the helicopter BHD stage again.

Be prepared to reset steel targets...as many as I can fit.

Well, hmmmmmmmm.

1. 5th Group 9/11 memorial.
2. Pecos RnG.
3. RBGC FAL match.

Not an easy choice.

It will either be a lot of driving.

Or something will have to give.

It is a good problem to have - so many cool matches you can't attend them all!

Agreed.

Although I suspect the FAL match will feel pretty tame after I am done with the RnG.

We're gonna need a dump barrel or some gravel to drag riFALs through for this match. ;-)

I'm not sure why that's in there. It's Mark (gunplumbr), I've seen him give people shit for using metric mags in inch (even though they are supposed to fit albeit the notch doesn't seat as much or something?) maybe it was just for the pic or something.

LOL. I got the wood from yellowhand, up close it's got just the right amount of dings/wear. The action/barrel etc is all re-coated though, I agree, too pretty

My FAL has an inch receiver, and it is true that metric mags will fit and function.

They're just a little sloppy in there so I don't use them for matches unless I have to.

Dammit, I always thought if anyone could it would be you, so please make your best attempt to do so bro

I know it is a challenge for you to get this in the schedule and truly appreciate the effort. I'll take what dates we can get with no complaints, but September is always a really busy month for me work-wise. I will certainly be there if at all possible and will do what I can for "planet alignment" efforts on this side.

It's on my calendar Bruce

Well, I missed last year... expected it to be later in the year

...and it was earlier! 2018 will be much later.

But I'll be there this year.

At least I started looking well before April this time!

This is going on the calendar. Surely the worlds ugliest FAL will be ready to rock by then. If not then she'll just have to perform on demand.

ET, you may have met your match on that statement. There are some homely, where did this come from rifles that show up. And it is usually the pretty ones that choke and kick the operator in the nether regions.

Stimpy runs a challenging match that tests men/women and metal to their breaking point. All the while providing a running commentary on the state of affairs.

Everybody has a good time before, during and after. All lies, fables, and gross exaggerations accepted.

All too true Mike, but I have seen, handled, worked on, and shot his riFAL.

It is a "challenger" to say the least for that particular competition.

I tried to and still want to buy it from him. It's so fuggen ugly it is beautiful !

Mike, I would bring out the Green Kombat Karbine G1 to shoot, but Stimpy permanently banned it from the matches due to possible hearing loss law suits from the spectators. I put on everything the Files members said was buttfugly and made a 3 gun rifle. Why? Cause all that stuff was really cheap or free to who wants it. It shoots great, is obnoxiously ugly and loud as hell, but can be only used in open air, non covered events.

Did not!

But you may remember it that way because in those days I was a rule-nazi about stock vs modified classes.

That may have been it. I am getting old and my memories aren't what they used to be. I do remember some not so polite comments about Isreali Mil-Surp, short barrels and fish gill brakes under a tin roof when we shot it on the Friday after set up. That thing would loosen your fillings.

More sign up info will come from Stimp, probably after his spring run and gun.

I'll see you there tho......

Normally a couple of months out, Stimpy posts the match info along with the signup sheets. That includes info on shirts, prices, how to get there etc.

However, several of the RBGC match Directors have taken to using Practiscore for match admin stuff. So Stimpy may use that this year.

And welcome to the club. Once you have come, you can not miss another. They are a siren's song, pulling you back every year.

Tac covers it pretty well.

I may use practiscore. It is interesting folks are using paypal to pay, is that an option FAL match shooter would like to see?

You can just say "No" if you are a hater, the lecture never takes.

Paypal closed my account many years ago for selling martial arts weapons, so I'm out - political lectures aside. If it works for others it's no skin off my nose.

PP, CC, personal check, cash in unmarked bills, barter, trade, bank transfer....all is good here.

Any payment type that does not require me sending Blondzilla to town to get a USPS MO is good

Many thanks for hosting this excellent event. I've missed the last two due to work but it'll happen this time. Have you already decided on the T-shirts?

We shot rifle grenades one year.

It didn't seem to entertain the shooters as much as I expected and was kind of a pain to deal with.

Dave
I have a while before I need to do shirts.

Any special requests?

I am actually dealing with the Run-and-Gun at RBGC planning right now.

I was getting really nervous, thinking I'd missed it this year. A fall time slot will be interesting.
