Oh dear...

At least we know he isn't going to have an "accidental discharge".

Let's see...

1. Two gunners, carrying so much ammo draped over their shoulders they are almost strangling themselves.

2. Gunner on right has no ammo inserted in weapon. Gunner on left has ammo inserted backwards in the weapon. Both are sitting ducks as neither can employ said weapons quickly.

3. Gunner on right has his ski mask on wrong, can't even see out the eyeholes. Must be taking dressing lessons from the ATF.

4. Suffice to say, if we all went to war with most of Africa tomorrow, we'd be wondering what to do to break our boredom by sundown.

Are you being serious or facetious?

The magazine is clearly visible and engaged. How shiny is your thumbnail?

I thought that at first, but I'm thinking the belt is laid backwards over the feed tray and above the [s]ejection port[/s] ... oops, feeds from the right.

Look close at the Left Gunner's weapon : I'm thinking it's a VZ-59 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uk_vz._59
but his belt is 7.62 NATO. Guess that makes it the VZ59N export model.

More Nigerian WECSOG photos : zip-tied double-mags.

(Also makes this a FAL-related thread! )

Must be a local fashion statement.

Nigeria's main armed group MEND have threatened to attack oil firms such as French group Total in renewed violence in the country's restive oil-rich Niger Delta region

*
Belts not in the GPMGs or when they are,
good trigger discipline (for the most part),
better uniformity than most African militias,
most of the weapons *appear* to be in good shape
(that L1A1 is ancient, was probably beat-to-crap before our worthy got his hands on it)...

Thoughts, Hagar?

+1. And they'd stand there looking around, wondering why their comrades (a carefully chosen word) were "laying down on the job". No wonder they use machetes at the drop of a hat. Mechancially, machetes are simple to understand for most folks and are at the extreeme of the ability of these folks.

I just spent a week seeing AKs (all Chinese underfolders) used as fashion accessories, walking stocks, lap warmers, crutches etc etc Only saw one cop who actually looked like he knew how to make the rifle go bang (well could make the rifle go bang in under five minutes)...

Somebody said...

Somebody told me these guys have a habit of kidnapping and roughing up a few westerners that work for the oil companies every 6 months or so. The guy who told me used to work in Port Harcourt for years.

He said the "rebels" claim to want "justiccccce" for the homeland but they ALWAYS take the oil companies ransom money, for both the oil workers and the rigs they occupy for a few days.

Did you notice...the Delta is still the same, no change whatsoever.

Oh, by the way, did you know that if you are a governor of a state you get , you personally get, the right to contol and/or dole out your state's share of oil revenues. Those sums are in the beaucoup millions every year. The governors have final say over where the money goes. You can guess where it does go, every year. Gstaad anyone ? No, this time we can meet you in Mayfair or maybe we will go to Monte Carlo this week ?

Send in a few American Spec Op Teams, and this can be cleaned up in a matter of weeks.

That's kind of what they thought in Somolia too. There's just too many of them. Armored Cav and spec ops would do quick work though!
