Newbie Questions? That most ask?

I donít know that much about FALís like i know AKís. I just want one that is the most reliable, best accuracy and that is somewhat light weight a little over 8lbs. that has a decent trigger. Thats not a safe queen that would be a good shooter to 500yrds max. I do know that most FALís are 3moa rifles to. Ideas so far is to get an ARS built imbel, Springfield SAR 48 or the FN FNH match but their a PREMIUM. Am I looking in the right direction or is their something else I am missing. I have lost 2 Auctions for ARS bulit rifles and starting to second guess this direction. Should I Just step Up to the SAR 48 now or keep waiting for a ARS rifle. fYi having me build a rifle is not going to work. Thanks for any input that anyone wishes to share.

How about, its a FAL kit built by Gunplumber/ARS!!!!

Mark has corrected me so many times on this, I just gave up.

Argy/Imbel, tomato, tomatoes, beer and chips!

I was pulling 2.5 inch groups, benched, with some nice Federal 150 grain FMJ's I normally shoot in the Remington 700 M&P.

Around three inches with some old Port.

I highly advise that you jump on this. An Imbel receiver will run you $600, the kit will be another $550, before you ever turn a wrench or have someone like Mark turn it for you. RUN, don't walk to the bank!

Mark gave up correcting me on all this, Imbel/Argy stuff, in that I've never been able to keep it all straight.

ARS/Mark has built either five or six of these for me over the years, they are all solid, dang great shooters, damn things just work and look proper.

I have one of the first he built for me, as my go to shooter, a full British near all matching, I say near all, because I forget, but think a 100% near nos kits he built on a Coonan for me that goes where ever I go.

The others, like this one, just kept following me home over the years, it is an addiction, so just time for others to enjoy my bounty.

So, someone take this rifle home and enjoy it.

To get to your weight you need a lightweight model. A lightweight G-series weighs just under 8 1/2 lbs. with a lightweight magazine inserted, so what you want is doable with the right parts.

Nice score, welcome to the addiction!
Having "ARS" stamped on it adds a bit of cachet to it.

I am a big beleiver in custom shops. I am a big AK guy. I had Devinitive Arms bulid me a DAKM 4150 on a 1960’s Polish parts kit and it out shoots any Arsenal I have at 1.89moa and is by far the smootest action on a AK period. The link on my DAKM 4150 with Russian brake. Selling the wood now. http://www.armslist.com/posts/629887...k-47-furniture

Just came in from the new wood shop, actually, the outside of the new wood shop, digging out a new water line to it, hot, 90 here today, dirty, bleeding a little, and stinkin to high heaven.

So let me clean up and I'll measure the barrel, its whatever they the original folks stuck on the end of it, and Mark to my knowledge, does not weld on flash hiders, he threads and clocks them properly, or he might weld them on, for banned states, but AZ is pretty much anything goes concerning firearms.

Consider it yours, we'll work out the paperwork, payments, transfers, etc, later.

Modes for the Rifle.

Getting a ARMS scope rail. I have a Redfield 2-7x-33mm scope already for it very light weight. I have these on my Ak,s and love them great eye relief scope made by Leupold. Factory muzzel brake should be fine but i may upgrade for a Terminator T2 brake love them but their expensive. Have one on a M&p 10. Have I said I reload 308 ammo. My reloads are 168gr Zmax 46.2grs of CFE223 and get 2625fps out of a 18Ē barrel SD is 29 right now trying to cut it down with Match primers but still have a ton of CCI LR primers.
