Heavy metal rock guy passed away un-noticed in 2015

Yep, dude was a heavy metal guy and acted in a few films. He was in Lord of the Rings I believe. Wrote the music and did vocals. Christopher Lee. Look him up and share your comments, specially you old guys.

I've heard of him but been in the dark regarding details of his fanged badass, war fighting, super-model marrying, heavy metal connected self.
Best quotes from the wiki:

Quote:
Lee released a third EP of covers in May 2014, to celebrate his 92nd birthday, called Metal Knight, in addition to a cover of "My Way", it contains "The Toreador March", inspired by the opera Carmen, and the songs "The Impossible Dream" and "I Don Quixote" from the Don Quixote musical Man of La Mancha. Lee was inspired to record the latter songs because, "as far as I am concerned, Don Quixote is the most metal fictional character that I know"

and:

Quote:
Lee was a step-cousin of Ian Fleming, author of the James Bond spy novels, and a distant relative of Robert E. Lee and the astronomer John Lee.

He was in the British military for quite a few years, and served in intelligence for the RAF and also some time with SAS.

I remember in a 'behind the scenes' clip from The Return of the King, the director of the movie or someone else was talking about the scene where Sauruman is stabbed in the back. They told Lee to scream loudly and horribly when his Saruman character gets a dagger in the back. Lee told them, 'that's not the sound a man makes when suddently stabbed through the back'. With a knowling look he demostrated what it would sound like, and they used his version for the movie. I forget if Lee mentioned his time in the service or the directors later discovered that, but they were all like 'Wait...how does he know this kind of thing?"
