Pakistan Ammo

A local ammo supplier has a lot of Paki 7.62x51. Berdan primed and supposed to be non magnetic. Says it’s 1970s manufactured. They have linked and de-linked. A few different package deals. Tarnished but GTG..

Anyone have reviews of Paki ammo or experience with it?

It is decently priced for today’s standards at $0.50ish a round. A bit less for cash.

www.unammo.com

PS.

Looking for good deals on. 380acp, 38/357, 45acp, 7.62x51, 410 shotty, 12ga and.... .22lr

You can buy new production ammo commercially produced for that.

What's the appeal of 40 year old Paki ammo?

I'm leery of stuff that's been sitting who knows where under what conditions for 40 years.

Why is it worth it over new production stuff from Korea or Brazil?

Pass at or close to 50cents/rd.

Boxer primed MEN, PMC, and GGG ammo has been selling close to that price. I bought a bunch of the MEN and it was 2016 mfg. OLD Pakistan stuff should be 30cents/rd or less to get me interested.

Seemed like there were issues with the stuf from there. On the other hand
nothing good has ever left Pakistan......ijs

The 1960s POF .303 was ripe with hangfires. The 7.62x51 all shoots but it is “plinking grade” at best.

Hell no, I wouldn't consider it. Berdan at that?

This on SG and you get free can with 460 rnds. 0.45/round.

Malaysian is 0.40

But I'd probably pay and extra nickel to go ahead and get relatively new Fed M80

So far I have had good results with the MagTech 7.62x51 , new production. I think it's about $0.48/round at this time.

I'd buy Malaysian surplus before buying POF.

Several years ago I got a case for $0.20 a round including tax. No fail to fire but large groups and it is corrosive. Do not believe the label, clean after every use.

Century sold Pakistani 7.62 in big, square black metal boxes with yellow stenciling. They threw in a Cetme bayonet and sheath with each case of ammo. I believe that prices, circa '05 I'd say, was around .10/rd. I bought two cases and shot 20 rounds through an 18" Para yesterday. I was surprised by how well that Para liked it. Even better than some '81 Port that I also shot. The ammo I have has an 80 on the headstamp. It would've sure been wise to have bought more, "back in the day".

I bought a big square can of Paki ammo from a guy's shop in Baton Rouge years ago. One thousand round can with a big square pull flap in the middle. Cost about .33c a round. Never had any hang fires or FTF rounds, but it does smell like crap when fired. Accuracy is minute of pie plate. Never had any cycling issues either.

My Pakistan POF 7.62x51s are made in 90s, non-corrosive. I heard earlier productions are corrosive. Just combat ammo, not for accuracy, I run them in my semis, FAL, M14, 308 AR, 308 AK, never had an issue after almost 1K and the groups are acceptable. I bought 2K linked ammo at 25c/rnd from Century many years ago.

That's the stuff I bought I bet. I was surprised by how well it did but it was only about 70 yards so not much of a test I guess. I am pretty certain that lot is non-corrosive.

I am not sure but I thought I remembered some member/s on here pulling some Paki ammo down and finding cordite in some rounds? I seem to remember someone posting a picture of some pulled cartridges. It would have been back when there was a lot of it being imported in and sold cheap?
