LMT, .308 new gun, unfired, rounds stick in chamber - help please

Needs some brain power on this. Finally got my LMT, .308 AR, modular rifle. Swabbed barrel, loaded a mag and worked the charging handle just to be sure it stripped a round correctly. Well it loaded the chamber but now I can not get the charging handle to strip the round back out of the chamber. It feels as if the bolt is locked when I pull back on the charging handle. Anybody got any helpful hints?

Thanks,

Chris

update - and a question

I disassembled it and knocked the round out. The chamber seems tight with both federal 168 Match and also with DAG 147 gr. milspec ball.

My question - Should I just function fire a few magazines through it? It fails to manually extract a round now and pulling charging handle will not pull the round out. Chamber might just be a tad tight. Shoot it, what say ye?

Thanks,

Chris

My brothers RR Predator Pursuit does the same thing. But functions perfectly when being fired. Just almost impossible to get an unfired round out of the chamber. First, I would contact the mfgr and get their opinion.

Just a suggestion....

If you get no resolution from the manufacturer, you might run a jag/patch or dowel/patch (chamber size) with some Flitz polish on it, work it, then wipe it out and clean thoroughly. That Flitz will slick up (micro polish) the chamber and get any residue like lacquer etc out of there.

I watched a rep at a gun show run a patch of that through a "clean' pistol barrel...wow, unbelievable how much residue came out. Flitz is the one to use, not any other kind of metal polish.

Haven't had a AR style gun in a while but I don't think this will hurt it...just be sure to get it all out with a good chamber brush afterwards. Maybe some BC Gunscrubber. Also clean the barrel to get any excess out of there.

Maybe other guys have an opinion on using it to slick up a chamber...

Been meaning to hit some of my barrels with it....need a new tube!

Contact LMT, first. Let them suggest your best course of action. You have a warranty and don't want to void it.

Thanks guys

I spoke with Ray @ LMT this AM. He explained the head-spacing and function firing they do before releasing finished product. He said this is normal and to go enjoy it as it will loosen up after a 100 rounds or so. Thanks again members.

Much respect,

Chris
