WTK value of 1918 Ishapore .22 enfield

A buddy is offering me a trade, one of my imbel FALs for his ishapore .22, itís in excellent shape. I just canít find any info on how much it may be worth. My FAL is built on a Coonan type 3. Any help is appreciated

Unsure as to an Isaphore as they don't tend to bring as much as other Enfields (Brit and Aussie) and never have. Other SMLE 22s seem to bring $600-1000ish depending on condition. Being an Isaphore I'd venture to guess its seen some real use over the years. Sight unseen it's difficult to say but if I were you I'd likely hang onto the FAL.

Normally I would agree the ishapores were ridden hard and put away wet. This one on the other is mint. Barrel is actually a .22 and not lined, finish looks original. Was FTRd at some point in the 30ís, pics attached

The next time I hear "THE RANGE IS NOW HOT", it just wont be the same.

Max tried another question. "What sort of people live about here?"
"In THAT direction," the Jin said, waving its right paw round, "lives a Han: And in THAT direction," waving the other paw, "lives a Ming Hare. Visit either you like: they're both mad."
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Max remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Jin: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Max.
"You must be," said the Jin, "or you wouldn't have come here."

I agree, keep the Imbel, unless he wants to add a few hundred to the trade. That SMLE has stock repairs, and it's been re-parked over pitting. So, not a mint original. But, if it's what you REALLY want, it's still your decision.

I ended up trading, we did reach an agreement on $700 trade value for his rifle. I was asking 1k, he also had a nice type 94 pistol and knocked off $300 for that price. Itís alot nicer in person, it is something I wanted. I feel the value is fair, and honestly I have 3 other imbel kits waiting to be built

I would want that too. I grew up shooting a English SMLE no3? .22 Trainer. I think you got a fair price. I have not seen one for sale for quite a while in my area. Nice score.

+1. As long as it is something you're happy with that is all that matters.

Although FTR'd, it is pretty nice and better than most I have seen. Based on what I have seen other Enfield .22's go for, I would put this one in the $650-$750 range. + points for condition, - points for Ishapore, but a nice rifle none the less.

It started life as an Ishapore but was almost certainly turned into a .22 by the Australians.

Haven’t made it to the range yet. I have been refinishing my Ishapore 2A1 .308, I plan next week me and my oldest son will go to the range and have an enfield shoot. He loves enfields just like me specifically the no1 mkIII, says it looks like a bulldog.

I parkerized the 2A1 this morning Inmanganese, looks fantastic. I am going to refinish the wood starting tomorrow in the same color as the .22

I figured the value at $700, and with that he gave me a great deal on a type 94 Japanese pistol also all matching Total I paid $350 for the pistol
