C93 PTR Century

Buds deal from July. Received in OCT, promptly took to range. No go. WW white box 55 grain. M193, M855, nothing worked. Mostly fail to eject. 100 rds made no difference. POI way left at 25m, ran out of sight. Magazine only held 7 rds, box mashed. Grouped nicely though.
Contacted Century, they said contact PTR.
PTR said will send RMA and fedex shipping. Nothing came after variety of contact attempts. Finally I paid for and mailed rifle myself.

PTR contacted me and sent a replacement rifle to my FFL.
Received 24 Dec! Out to range Christmas Day.Sughts dead nuts on. Function acceptable m193 and M855. Cold 8f. Groups nicely. Three more range trips, good cleanings. Works good. 100yard groups great. Offhand hits in stell silhouette at 200yds, 10 for 10. Off hands at giant gong 300yds.
Painful start, Rifle recommended. Ordered a HK Parts scope mount.
Thanks!

Glad to hear they made it right after all that mess. Mine shipped in November and have yet to take it to the range. I'm hoping to get out there soon after everything dries up. We've had rain pretty much everyday since Christmas. All I've done was break it down for inspection/wipe down and was pleased to see that the numbers all match on mine. Still have to check to see if my HK 30rd mags will fit. Haven't bought any of the polymer mags. On the fence if I'm going to buy them or not.

I got one. The action is a bit stiff. Bolt gap .022 after firing a couple of mags flawlessly. Well finished. Pro mags fit but donít lock, the work after a little grinding.

Mine runs great, good BG, 19/20, good groups, weight of rifle a little on heavy side.

Nice, fellas. I missed the boat on these, unfortunately. I keep checking the website and I'm supposed to be on the list but so far, nada.

I got a spare one I'd sale, along with a few original mags, bolt gap around 20, fine shooter, nice new looking example out of the original batches brought in many, many moons ago.

I'm down sizing.

PM if interested, we can chat about it.

Try a .22 bolt action next time.

I got one from Bud's also but have yet to get it to the range. Hopefully this next week. Weather is cool but not cold. Hit and miss with moisture/humidity.

I've got Pro Mags. Here's hoping they work.

Thumbs up C93 Range report PTR

Back to the range. Chilly 09 F. Snow. Sun appearing about 0830 now, so still under lights at range opening.

Bought HK33 mag, won't set, needs tweaking.

Having FTE on round one! with 55 Gr factory reloads, TMJ bullet. Work fine in AR.
My 69 reloads won't function. FTE.
M193 and M855 factory work fine.

Mounted a HK parts mount, very nice, and 1x weaver. finally got zeroed at 100 yards. Like it . More to come as I shoot more. Hit the Big Gong at 300 yds a bit with scope and irons standing up.

Thanks for the sympathy and suggestions on doing the gorilla slap to load the rifle. Bet you fellas have built arm massive strength from one handed keyboard operation whilst I am out on the range shooting.

Have photos; how does one post them here? Thanks.
TTFN.

Built with Century scraps other than a PTR barrel. Check cocking tube gap as some of these guns shipped with a cocking tube support that had extra material welded on by Century monkeys. Check extractor tension as odds are the spring might need to be replaced.

PTR did a good job on the finish but could have taken a few minutes inspecting the parts before using them to build a rifle.

sad to hear this..i bought one a few years ago, one of the firs ones, of course it was a single shot at the range, every round fte. sent back to century, got a replacement rifle, that one was fantastic. Sold it to my best friend because he was an HK fanatic but broke,lol...i regret that, that was an awesome rifle.

I bought my C93 from Sarco about 7 years ago iirc and it has functioned well. First time out it was pulling the spent casings halfway out of the chamber. Used chamber brush to clean out old gun that was in there. ore bolt down and removed extractor + spring; lots of black gunk under it. Cleaned well and it has functioned flawlessly ever since.
