Some pics. Thanks for organizing these serial numbers!

Hi Neb,
Beautiful rifle!! and I'm glad you got your hammer.
Pics are always welcome! everybody should be posting pics of their Argy FALs...in the meantime the list of serial numbers keeps growing, let us know when you get your kit.

Chart update as of 2/13/10 with Nebula8080 data. I'm experimenting some changes on the format of the chart to make it easier to read (the more numbers will get more complicated to read....)

Hi TEDG,
could you update the first post?

For the latest chart go to the end of the thread. Thanks.

Hi IRONWORKER,
Congrats on your all matching Argy FAL! and thank you for sharing your numbers with everybody.

Since yours is already an ALL matching rifle you are not looking for any missing ORIGINAL matching part, correct? what I mean is in some cases one can 'create' the missing part by stamping the desired serial number in an unnumbered lower or bolt-B/C. I will update the chart by tomorrow, I don't want to abuse our system here making changes to the chart with each new number.
Regards,
Abel

Parts hunt

Ok guys, Here's a thought, For those of you that hang out on other web sites, Ask if you can start a thread about what we have going on here to help others and members here reconnect their missing parts and scrounge your local gunshops and if you see an SAC, Latta,S.C. marked receiver ask the dealer if you can record the serial numbers and tell them why and also add that it could help them sell that weapon faster which is a good Point of sale or POS, No it DOESN'T MEAN, PEACE OF SHIT EITHER. Be a little diplomatic about it, It can go along way and if it makes a sale for the dealer it helps in making you a better customer in relations to the dealer.

Great idea, there are several that have been hanging on GB for awhile too, I'll check with them & see if they may be interested.

ding ding. We have a winner....

Lower => 2217 *match*
Bolt / Carrier => 00720

For what its worth this kit didnt come out of Sarco. It was odd for a variety of reasons, but most notable is the location of the serial number on the lower and the lack of "Christmas tree" proof on the outside.

Gobbler PM inbound about swapping bolt/carrier's....

Chart update as of 2/16/10 with additional data from Nebula8080.
I think that next time I update this chart I will change the format in order to make it more 'friendly'....I think is getting hard to look for the numbers so next chart will not be with the names on the left column, it will be by 'numerical order', it is going to be a little bit more difficult for me but will make the search for everybody A LOT easier!

For the latest chart go to the end of the thread. Thanks

Holly guacamole!! LandCruiser has landed with a full boat of numbers!!
Are you rich?

So you replied to my PM saying you bought these 9 kits from SARCO in spring 09, but are you sure that these are Argy kits and not Rhodie's? because SARCO was selling the Rhodies too as part number FALB021 and like this picture:

[IMG][/IMG]

Your serial numbers looks like very much like the Rhodie ones, although I'm no expert just curious since the numbers looks very different from everything we have compiled so far.
The Argy lowers also have a stamp called by some as ''christmas tree'' proof, do you have that in your lowers? Let me know. I have already added all your numbers to the chart but I have to ''reprocess' the way I post the pics since the chart now has grown a lot.....

Chart update as of 2/19/10 with LandCruiser full boat of numbers!

As you can see I have been playing with the spreadsheet format in order to make it more ''friendly'', now on the left column you have the serial numbers and to the right the respective owners of the barrel, upper, lower, bolt and carrier. Therefore, if we find two different names in the same row that means that they need to talk to each other in order to arrange exchanges.... . let me know if you see any mistake in the numbers....
I hope this helps a little bit, looks cleaner.....
Take care
Abel

For the latest chart go to the end fo the thread. Thanks.

Why don't you just have one chart in the original post and just edit it as you add numbers instead of posting a new chart every 5-6 posts?

Hi def90,
You may be right....it will be a lot less confusing and the thread is getting too long....I'll ask TEDG how he wants to handle it since he is the owner of this thread. Thanks!
By the way....do you have any Argy FAL parts kit? I don't see your numbers....

Just finished my build with sarco argy lower 02252 and bolt and carrier 01453
I left the pin in the lower and chose to relieve the DSA upper to clear.

No, I've been watching in interest though.. It's good to see a couple matches starting to pop up. Maybe we need to start a numbers thread for all the Aussie and Brit kits out there as well. Have 2 inch kits to finish first then I may have to think about getting one of these..

I shoulda check more carefully. My bad. I'll double check my receipts and proof marks and let you know.

You may be right though. Since I squirreled them away right after I got'em from Sarco and only recently re-discovered them in my garage.

Congratulations on your build! have you taken it to the range?
And thank you for joining this ''reunification effort''. Will wait for a couple of days in case more numbers show up and will update the chart.

My apologies to everyone, and especially to aezcur for wasting your time.

My bad eyes and senility has reared its ugly head. I stand corrected.

Now, can anyone steer me to the Sarco Rhodie serial no. thread?

Hi LandCruiser,

No need to apologize!! We all are OLD DOGS and have Senior Moments! (It happens to me every day, especially with names of persons that I have been talking to them for years!!

OK, so this is the link to the Rhodie's thread.

http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showt...hreadid=280857

But I'm sure you hae at least a couple of Argy numbers in that jungle of FAL parts/kits my friend,.....can you confirm?

Take care!

Chart update as of 2/20/10 with LandCruiser moving to the Rhodie's thread and the new boy in the block gasgun15! playing along.

Note that I have deleted ALL intermediate charts, the only ones remaining will be on the first post (that will be a list of serial numbers by owners) and the last update at the end of the thread , a list in ordinal way (by serial numbers) so it will be easier to find the matches...if any!

TEDG,
I will send you via PM always the latest chart by owner for your first post.
Thanks

Always go to the end of the thread for the latest updates of the chart.

Keep it going everyone!! We only have less than 100 in our charts and maybe 900 unsold Sarco kits out of what is probably 2000 total complete rifles that got broken up. Don't hold me to those numbers, but you get the point.

Also in MGDaves thread he says he will hunt for the numbers that will match the barreled uppers will he be doing this for bare uppers as well. Thanks Womper Barrel and upper 0695

Hi Boss02,

Sorry for the mistake....I knew that I was going to mess with somebody's number!! My fingers are no longer as fast and precise as they used to be 30 years ago (not even mention my eyes..... ). I will update the chart later today or tomorrow....always waiting for new numbers to come....

On a side note...I sent MGDaves from SARCO a PM.....he should be along shortly with an update, I hope.

To all: Please check your numbers and if you see a mistake send me a PM and I will address it.

El portero agrega por favor el portador #02011 del perno de Argy a usted lista. Veré si puedo encontrar el perno. Gracias.

Sorry to be slightly off topic, but I've yet to see photos of one of these kits. Any volunteers?

Also, is the barrel cut down, or Type A? Bay lug?

Perfect!! You can visit Argentina any time, and just in case, remember a few fundamental phrases:

1) Una cerveza por favor
2) Un bife de costilla con papas fritas
3) Donde esta el baño?
4¡ Donde estan las chicas?

You don't need more than that....

Also in MGDaves thread he says he will hunt for the numbers that will match the barreled uppers will he be doing this for bare uppers as well. Thanks Womper Barrel and upper 0695
I didn't find the thread by MGDave in which he said that he'd try and hunt our numbers.

Is there a process for asking MGDave to look for our #s, or should we wait for him to review and post here?

Thanks!

Hi Johnnycobra,

It is in this same thread . MGDave's post is post#168.
I already sent him a PM but when I look at the status (to see if he read it) is showing his last time online on February 12th
Let's wait for a few days, we have to be patient because what we are asking is not easy and he may be on holiday.

Here is his post:

I have been watching this thread for a while I can see there are a number of people with orphaned barreled uppers. I have printed that list of numbers We can make an attempt to find the matching parts for you. This will have to be done "as it happens " We can not have the whole batch sorted all at once. This may take several months. Please be paitient with us. If we find a match for someone we would charge a $50 fee to help cover the sorting. If this is acceptable to people we can get started on it. This would just be finding matching parts sets for barreled uppers. We can not find individual parts.
Thanks
Dave

I have been following this thread for a few weeks. I've gotten the bug enough that I have ordered a kit from Sarco and bid on an Argy on GB.

When my kit comes I'll be adding it to the list.
I seems that this list is great to have but as it grows it will be more time consuming to look up numbers and parts.

My thought: If we could get support on the server for an application database with a very simple lookup method it would save a lot of time and also promote newbies to lookup their part number to find matching _____ (whatever)?
It might even make it easier for Sarco to match numbers.

Another thought: If a printed piece of paper, business card, etc. could be included in each kit that goes out from Sarco. It would reference this forum and the matching numbers thread for those who might be interested. Also, a promotion of the knowledge base that exists here.
Maybe MgDave can add some text to their existing packing slip/invoice that points to this site.

I will help in any way I can.

Hey kwthor, I don't know spit about "server support for application database",But if you can get it done, I'm all for it as I'm sure is aezcur.
I also like your suggestion as to Sarco helping get the word out. When I started this thread, I really didn't expect this kind of enthusiastic response.
I'm really glad people are coming on board with their numbers. Thanks to all.

I cant waight for Knob Creek in a few weeks! Sarco had a bunch of kits there last time and I hope they bring them again. I will pick up 1 or 2. I will need to make a list of the numbers just in case I find one someone is looking for.
