Do you think that these kits were imported from Cuba?

The Cuban guns were aid to the FSLN (The Sandanistas) When they were fighting the former govt. The Cubans went to AK rifles pretty fast after the revolution so they just passed the guns on to other revolutionaries when they were done with them.

That is correct. The Chilean guns we are getting with Cuban parts are captured left overs from the Sandinistas. These things should have a lot of history.

Here is my Cuban kit mocked up. The upper and the DSA Type I forged receiver has been sent to DSA for the barrel install and headspacing.

In the above pics, the 922(r) parts consist of: trigger, hammer, sear, piston, receiver, floorplate and follower. I replaced the carry handle (it was really worn) and the handguards (they were NBC and will go on my Rhodie build).

As mentioned earlier in this thread, the barrel, gas block, and hinge pin of this kit had Rhodie paint on them. I have set aside the hinge pin for my Rhodie build.

Looks good. Most likely what mine will look like when I get it done. Should be able to start on it the first of April.

Nice! Like those metal handguards, and the worn finish look!

Weather was nicer today in Illinois so, I managed to go to the range and set the gas regulators on both my Chilean build and the new Israeli FALs, another nice day and I'll try and get the sights set to hit something? 4-H meeting in a bit so, came back home to prepare for that.

Sarco had five Chilean/ Cuban kits at KCR for $500 each. They were in VGC. I was shocked at the end of the event that they had at least one remaining.
