I ordered one of the new Argi kits from Sarco on July 29 and it arrived today. It was well packaged in a heavy duty cardboard box. (that's a new one for Sarco!) All of the parts do indeed look new. The barrel, bolt & carrier, and complete lower appear to be genuine Argi to me, I don't know how to tell on the rest of the parts. As far as I can tell all the parts are there, I'm not familiar with the Argi front sight. The kits do not come with a flash hider or mag. The lower, gas tube, and top cover appear to be painted black, everything else is a nice dark park. The front sight parts are stainless?, or in the white? The only thing they messed up is the pivot pin, they sent two male halves. The barrel hand timed to just past 9 o'clock on my DSA T3 upper. The lower will not close on my upper because of the extra pin on the lower forward of the hammer. I guess I will file a notch in the upper.
On to the picks:

SWEET!!! SARCO did alright it looks like.
I wouldn't waste your time with trying to get the right pin from them, get it elsewhere. Slap that on a Type III and post more PICS!

Wow, awsome!!! Cutting a notch to clear the pin is doable. I dremeled a nothc out to install an Argy lower on a DSA type III as well.... no problem, just a little time consuming (I was using a Dremel tool after all).
Use the search function, there are images of the cut on FALfiles.

Johnny Reb,
Glad you like the kit. So from what I have seen its not matching numbers or unmarked? Makes me wonder if it was refinished by SARCO? Johnny what do you think? Thorack

The bolt & carrier are matching number. The lower is numbered but a different one. The barred was in a sealed bad and has no number. It has a very faint proof on one of the flats and what looks like an upside down "F" and a backwards "D" on the left side of the gas block.
The finish is way to nice for Sarco to have done it. The barrel has that pristine "cristalline" look to the park, and was dry as a bone. All of the other parts had oil/grease/cosmoline on them. If I get home early enough, I'll take some more picks in better light.

you guys might want to compare serial #'s of parts, as some of us did in a recent buy of some old Belgian kits ...
I don't believe we matched much but we gave an effort ... never know !! ETA: Start a sticky ... everyone could list their carrier/bolt/barrel/lower #'s

That is a really nice looking kit. I wonder if they ended up with any extra rear sights. I think I'll ask.

HOT DAMN!!! Christmas has come early this year & well worth the wait! My two are identical to Johnny Reb's ( but got a male & female pin) & they locked up and match perfectly on the old SAC Latta reciever, not so lucky on my other reciever though. Looks like Johnny & I have the same problem, it lacks about a 32nd pinning together. The lowers look brand new, all of the edges are sharp with no wear at all, just painted. The barrel & HGs new too. Almost messed up though, the small parts bag had a hole in it & half dozen scews & washers fell out in the box, just happened to hear them rattle as I dumped out the peanuts.

Looks very nice indeed, most excellent buy I think..... As far as the FT Sight Post what number is on it?? I have been trying a couple diff sights on my build getting it dialed in using an NOS ARGY barrel as the sights are diff then standard Metric sight posts.. You will also need an Argy Ft Sight tool for adjustment..

I had a -2 at first and the gun shot about 6" low so I cranked up the rear sight to (600 meter mark) get her dialed in.. Also the -2 is a short post and tough for me to see very well.. In an effort to get a taller post and not have to move the rear sight to the 600 Meter mark I ordered the "0" sight from Brad.. I can see the post much better but I have to btm it out and put the rear at 400 meter mark to shoot X's using a 6 o'clock hold @ 50 yds.... I can live with this but would like more adj in ft so I'm not sure what I will do at this point?? I have considered using an INDIAN/INCH rear sight or trying a "-1" but that's yet to be decided... J.Armstrong and I have talked about this a couple/few times and he has a Ft Post Mod I am considering as well.. He suggests taking the shoulder off the Post (you will note the square shoulder) and making it all post, then drilling holes in the base so that a reg sight tool can be used.. Thinking this is a good idea and will prolly do that with the "-2" before I do anything else..

You can also use Izzy front sight parts on your Argy gas block.
A little pricey, but you will definitely get her dialed in.... http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIte...Item=143811787 |

You ordered it on July 29 and it came on October 21st. Is 12 weeks a normal delivery time for SARCO? I don't know if I have that much patience.

I called today and asked about the NEW Argentine FAL kits. I talked to a man named Spencer. I asked how long it would be before they shipped it if I ordered today. He said it would be about one to two weeks. I told him I had heard that it took someone 12 weeks to get their FAL kit. I was told that since then they had assembled the parts into kits and were shipping much faster. I ordered one. I can't say I went into it blind. He also said the kits had barrels with the open hole sights to match the height of the rear sight.

I ordered my Sarco NEW Argentine FAL kit on the 12th expecting at least a two week wait for it to ship. Sarco shipped the kit on the 17th and I got it today. One week from ordering. It looks just like the pictures JohnnyReb posted. Matching bolt and carrier with different numbered lower. All the parts are new. The hammer has a couple of wear marks like it had been cycled a few times but not fired. All the parts were there except the selector assembly. I'll contact Sarco on that but overall I'm very pleased with this purchase. My thanks to JohnnyReb for his review. Without it and other Falfiles members comments I would probably have passed on it. Thanks guys.

just got mine in and it is exactly as described above...not heavy on the grease or cosmo but does need a little cleanup...packed as above....use caution for the little pins...my bag was torn as well....all appeared to be there...one week from order to delivery....
bolt and carrier: 01503 lower: 02820 also ordered a para top cover with stanag mount for another project and it looks primo as well.... if you are on the fence i would say these things are worth it...it really looks like a brand new FAL...i missed the last go around on FAL kits....not this time... are we gonna post our numbers or what???? |

All I have left to do is install the locking shoulder and paint the barreled upper. Moses's Argi fh replica looks great!
