You may also need the longer of the two magazine catch springs to ensure it retains magazines tightly.

I have an inch mag release in all my FAL's. Try using the metric spring frist. I have found that it is not as stiff as the inch.

Question metric and inch mag releases

Are they compatable with each other? The inch look like they would be easier to use with the left hand. saw a pic of a izzy release once but can't remember where. would like to put one on my
G1zzy if it would fit on a metric upper.
TIA,
Bob

Yes you can use a Inch version mag release lever on a Metric reciever, but you will need the Inch mag release lever,Inch mag piviot screw, and Inch mag release spring, they all fit with NO modifing at all just replace what was there before.HTH

Is the length of the Inch Mag Catch (the part that engages the magazine) any longer than the metric type?

DSA was selling Izzy mag releases. Not sure who else has them. I like them the best of any I've tried yet but I don't release mags left handed either. I use my right hand trigger finger for that. Which is why I like the Izzy.
TAPCO has the Holland mag releases that look interesting. Can't justify the money to try one right now though.

I have two metrics and an inch, all are the same length. I just sent a couple off to have a bead welded onto them so the mag will fit better and prevent bolt overs.

I am LH, and also use the Inch M/R on my Metrics. Drop a ball bearing in the blind boss before you insert the mag catch spring. No BoB problems, even on mmy Hesse.
