MAL headstamp 7.62x51

Anyone had trouble with this stuff? I'm assuming it's Malaysian. Primers are set too deep. They are below the level of the case head and I've had several FTGB (Failure To Go Bang) in my FN-FAL. I'm not even sure where I picked it up or when.

It chambers fine, but examining both fired and unfired rounds about half have primers that are seated and sealed so that they are recessed below the case head. Some of those just no go boom in either my FAL or a Winchester 70.

Malaysian 7.62 Nato

I have shot plenty of this and still have a 100 or so that I left belted. When it was sold a few years ago, everything I saw available was M-60 belted. I never had a problem with any of it. It was accurate and fairly clean. I don't recall any duds. I don't remember the date on the headstamp.

I have fired a few thousand MAL 7.62NATO rounds in my Israeli FAL, M1 Garand, and HK91. Never a misfire and the most accurate so far in my M1.
