Got some neat new toys...
been spending some time on the "usual suspects" site-its expensive to frequent that site. heres what i think of the stuff i have aquired lately:
Omega James Bond smp quartz-used: traded a lnib glock 27 for it, really really great watch, hefty, clean lines, great lume, looks cool, 40 mm bezel- better than the rolex gmt II with the exception of not being an auto. Fortis Flieger pilots watch-used: looks HUGE on the wrist 40 mm face, clean watch: all it had is day,hr, min, and an orange sec hand. lume is not as good as the omega but it is an auto and its cool to watch the orange second hand sweep around the face-watch retails for $750 can be had like new used for $300. good watch. surefire flashlights: g2 z2 c2 l4 e2d (i get them at cost from the gunstore) if i had to pick one id buy the e2d or the L4 they both edc very well. if i was on a budget id get the g2. these are top of the line serious illumination tools- range from $35 to $150 retail. downside? yep this high performance comes at a cost in the form of batteries a set will run a 60-65 lumen bulb for about an hr- go to 120 lumens and you get 20-30 minutes cost is about $4 a set. Knives: recently bot a: Chris reeves green beret knife-civi version-used cool knife, well balanced, sharp, good sheath, good ergonomics, 7 inch blade. $250 ($300 new) well spent imo. strider MT-new, 7 inch blade, para cord wrapped handle, tiger striped v30 blade well balanced lifetime replacement if damaged lifetime resharpen/repair/ $350 not sure if its worth it but i can sell it for exactly what i paid for it in an hour or less on the internet. swamp rat camp tramp-desert tan-D2 tool steel, same guarentee as strider, blade heavy, needs sharpening out of the box, HEAVY, SUBSTANTIAL, should be a great chopper in the field, built in the Busse factory at night from leftover stock that was not used in prior years Busse combat knives. $150 new- a best buy- highly recommend. crkt- greg lightfoot designed folder designated M1-AUS8 steel-scary sharp out of the box-accidently left a 2-3 inch gapeing wound on my forarm when i forgot i left it there- $50 retail- great knife- as a matter of fact i like all the crkt knives at this pricepoint- very very good values. it for now. aj |

If you want cheaper 123's you can get them
for $1 each if you join this forum http://www.candlepowerforums.com/ You need to try out the Surefire A2 or if you spent all your money on those toys try the Streamlight TwinTask 3 LED for 28 hours burn time or Xenon for shorter but brighter burn, or by going just a little bigger you can get 3in1 Xnergy with either 3 Led / 6 Led or Xenon on 2 123's also. Oh and check the mod's page for Kroll switch in either SL TT 2 or 3in1 - very handy Cool toy's aj |
