Thank you Dremel master Jeter

As I posted yesterday, the recoil return spring tube unscrewed with the retaining nut attached on my STG carbine

There were several folks who responded with advice on how to seperate the parts.

Gary's method worked just fine.
I locked the nut in the vice and covered the tube with 3 layers of electrical tape, large plyers and a some pressure and the parts seperated. I degreased the parts and used red locktite to put the tube back on the receiver.

I changed out the recoil springs with new springs from TAPCO using the tool .

man, now this thing is 3 times harder to rack the bolt. No wonder I was starting to have some misfeeds. Hopefully I can get to the range to test fire because I'm sure the gas system will need to be readjusted.

Anyway Thank's again Gary !.

I love this board.

Oh yeah, does the recoil spring need to be lubricated ..... If it does how and where ?

the recoil spring should have a little axel grease on it to keep it from corroding. you should pull it out with the tool (two screwdrivers of the right shape and length), and wipe it on by hand. not too much, now.

How about some of the white lithium grease ?

Aside from being a great lube, it keeps you in a zgreat state of mind
