Winter is the perfect time.

At least for me. I enjoy prone and sitting dry fire exercises on a cold and windy day. Just 0 this morning so fat boy ain't going out to shoot but I can get in even more important practice and stretching the old ligaments.

You need a couple of dogs licking your ears and wanting to play for training on "shooting with distractions".

Inspiring!

Beautiful home, from all we've seen.

You are living well, sir.

One is enough. She knows enough to get in her cage when it's my turn for the floor. If you look carefully at the cage, you can see her watching just waiting for me to get up.

Art,

Why not a solid black bull target? Where are you putting your front sight under the grey center bull or the lowest black ring? What is the size of the grey and distance from prone to target?

Grey helps me concentrate on the front sight. 6 oclock on the grey which is 1.25" and I set up 30' from the target.

Seems like I recall Jeff Cooper writing in one of his books about he used to practice dry firing at the tv. Of course that was with a bolt gun, he would try to hit all the Zero's that appeared on the screen before the disappeared.

I can't think of dry firing without thinking of Grass Week in Boot Camp. Being a shooter I was excited for it and the Range Week that followed...

Instead I found out that spending hours in a shooting position was torture. Even prone sucked.

Glad to see there are so many that at least think about it.
I sometimes roll out my shooting mat on top of the rug. Us dinosaurs may require extra padding at times. Most of the time I even put ace bandages on my elbows if I intend torture for extended periods.

She is the best. After 51+ years together she knows what to expect.
Rifles are a part of the household and have always been.
Wife in center with daughter and one son to her left and older son and his wife to her right.

Life is way to short to let things get boring.
Wife and on on vacation on Kauai awhile back.
