Vortex 15-60x Side Focus

Found a decent deal on a Vortex Optics Golden Eagle HD Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 15-60x 52mm 1/8 MOA Adjustments Side Focus scope. Never purchased a scope above 36x and on one rifle only shoot it if range exceeds 600 yards and is supposed to be minute of man accurate to 1,250 yards and beyond given conditions and man holding it. Actually have a pair of the 26" fat tube 6XC and built for 600 to 1,000 yard competative shooting. Have a 36x Leupold Target scope that's been blueprinted by a second party vendor.

At 1,000 yards actually need a decent size spot to aim at with 36x (how people shoot 1,000 with irons will not work hard enough to figure out) but with my eyes fading and wanting to scope the second with something that's both lower and higher power than 36x this may be the best scope willing to buy for rifle might shoot once every year or two as logistics of a 1,000 yard range are not easy for me. Only one have access too is 5 hour round trip and appointment only. Anyone in here used this scope? Would be nice to have wider field of view under 500 yards and be able to zoom in tight at 1,000.

It's all about purpose. If you're going to compete in f class or bench rest that vortex will be good. If you just want to be able to hit a silouhette at 1000 you probably don't need that much magnification. I have a sightron 10-50 and you can't always use it on 50 power because of mirage.

Why looking at the 15 to 50. Have two identical rifles down to everything but glass. Both have been run with the 36x and both shoot better than I do. Figure in good conditions can hopefully crank it up and in bad conditions run it down in the 15 to 25x range. The fixed power 36x would suck if had an under 250 yard shot due to such limited field of fire. The Vortex is a good deal right now and their forever warranty may come in handy on this type of scope as seems like the type to have potential issues if abused.
