German receiver tubes

What type of steel was used on some of the early tube gun receivers Germany had during WW1 and WW2 (mp 18,mp 28,mp 40 inc). I am assuming 4130 chrome moly or 4140 in that family. Any info is helpful. Thank you kfal 58
