Libs really really want Net Neutrality
https://www.justice.gov/usao-wdny/pr...essman-and-his
This guy was taken into custody for threatening the local Congressman with death and to also kill his family if the Republican Congressman did not support "Net Neutrality." That 'ol Net Neutrality, it really gets-em going. I can't explain it, but it has something to do with censorship of forums like these, and that the rich can get faster internet speeds. Maybe the perp is a gamer? He might need 100 mpbs? Damn! Who knew that it was like a BLM or Muslim or Illegal immigrant issue? Guy goes to jail for a bit, for sure for gaming speeds. Local news has not carried this news item just yet; they only run anti Trump stories. |

I've been trying to figure out the net neutrality piece myself. We had an open Internet prior to June of 2015 and we all seemed to get along just fine. Now we have a rule that forces all service providers to treat all data equally - and somehow that stiffles investment and innovation. But there was plenty of investment and innovation before June of 2015.
I guess my confusion lies with the fact that the Internet worked prior to the FCC ruling in 2015 and it's worked fine after the FCC's ruling as well. Other than allowing the government to regulate the Internet as a utility, what's the hubbub about? Or is that it? This is another open market-vs-Big Gov thing argument?

I too do not understand NN ?? What does it do and what are the benefits of its elimination ?
Rush was saying How Not having NN would allow people to buy faster and better service if they want to spend the Extra Money--I see that as a Bitch from RICH people .. Will eliminating NN cause us to have Tiered Pricing where as on Now we all get the same thing [net socialism]??? and elimination will mean 3 or more Price packages where Low Life scum Like me on Social security will be forced into the low Tier where we cant even watch U-Tube Videos and If we want any speed at all we will have to pony up BIG TIME for 2 grades Higher ..I see $150.00 a Month Internet Bills In My crystal ball !! Add another $150.00 for TV if so inclined -Yea You can have off air free -No 4 K Transmissions for you ever and enjoy the liberal brain dead Programing BTW!!! Just Playing Devils Advocate --Dont Flame me!!! ![]() So eliminating NN will increase competition -- And Lower costs --Like the 20 GAS Stations in the city close by where every one of them is EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE ! That Kind of competition >??? |

Yeah, I hear you.
That guy who threatened to kill Congressman Katko and his entire family over this, well he must really have an investment in an X-box and maybe even a Playstation, and plays on line. He definitely played too many, first person shooter games. |

We want to keep Net Neutrality if you don't want to have to start paying to access parts of the web that are currently free.

With all the info, and opinions thrown out around here, for the life of me I cannot understand why people do not avoid Google as much as possible. I'm not lost to the point of thinking that I/we can avoid the digital trail, but why make it even easier for the PTB (Google, for one) to know everything about you and your life? Google "IS" Big Brother... ![]()

Net neutrality was a good thing.
Rescinding it is just a wellfare giveaway to wellfare queen corporations. Falfiles loads a helluava lot slower. You didn't like it just because a Ni@@er suported it! Now I get the options to pay more for crappier service! If you think an unbiased, selectively throttled service on publicly funded-developed utiity is a good thing, your're GO@@amned IGNORANT! ![]() |

While parts of the internet are funded by the public, the transport (the data communication "highways") are mostly privately funded, both installation and maintenance. Historically the reverse was true but commercialization of the internet meant that the government was unwilling to absorb the billions in cost for the infrastructure, so private companies installed the internet "superhighways."
Net Neutrality supporters wish for an internet resembling the U.S. western expansion, except the railroads are already built and "should cost the same to get from here to there for everyone." Detractors wish for an internet resembling the U.S. western expansion, except the railroads are already built and "the owners of the railroads should be able to charge according to the market demand." NN was never really implemented in the U.S., what you see now is a baseline on which the future will progress, NN or no NN. |

NN is government regulation of the internet. Government regulation is usually bad.
