Parts kit price increase

Anyone notice the recent $100+ increase in parts kit in recent weeks. Wanted to buy what a country parts kit for $450 last night as listed(the lowest I could find) , this morning it jumped to $550.

Is this because of the holiday season or just the steady jump in prices

Unlike AR-15s, they're not making more every day. FAL kits aren't common enough anymore for vendors to blow them out with holiday sales.

The volume of the secondary market has eclipsed the primary market and once that happens prices skyrocket. There almost isn't a primary market today. Other than SARCO floor sweepings(more 'pile' than 'kit'), who's selling FAL kits?

That means they're down in a he bottom of the barrel. Bottom line, the kits are drying up.

$550 is less than 1/2 price for a real nice matching Steyr

That Imbel kit still looks like a good deal when you compare it to
Sarco's, barrel less, random rusty, junk box parts

That means folks making receivers will eventually stop making them. Probably why DSA and Coonan have stopped with the inch etc. receivers.

Eff aye ells ain't cheap no more. If this barrel ban crap would go away , I wonder how many demill kits would suddenly appear from off shore? Look at the stuff Paco has. He has paid probably a fraction of what they would cost here.

I have probably about 6 kits worth of parts. Only 2 or 3 would be somewhat correct. Good barrels are what is getting scarce. Too many missing gas blocks, neutered or cut have really screwed that deal up

Yea, I've got between 6-9 Imbels left, don't really care to build any more.

Can't decide if I should sell, get uppers to go with them, or just hold to sell the kits alone later.

... or are more people asking too much for Imbel kits?

Here are a couple recent auctions that ended and didn't meet seller's reserve:

http://www.gunbroker.com/item/721818567
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/718961168
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/721967551
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/716181762
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/713400039

These sold:

http://www.gunbroker.com/item/718352171
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/718028047
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/713502130
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/711584476

Of course, there are a ton of Imbel kits with $500+ opening bids, and no record of any of them seller recently.

As i see in Europe, There are no parts kits. They are simply illegal.
There is a working gun, or a demilitarised gun. Nothing in between.
The new European rule on demilling is very hard. Barrel drilled, cut and welded to the frame.
Bolt 45 cutaway and welded.
Mag welded on the lower.
Lower and upper welded.

So, not much good parts on those.
Bolts , uppers, soms lowers, and barrels are considered "gun".

difficult...

About prices. Yep, full auto's cost nothing compares to the USA.
Semi's are more expensive as in the USA
A used M16 A1 in selective cost 1500$
A used semi Colt AR15 Sporter HB will go like 1200$ and more.

WOW

In the US, a transferable M16 is around $25K.
A used Colt AR15 HB, around $1,000 to $1,500 depending on region and recent "events".

In Europe, civilians think the US has the best gunlaw (like, everything is possible and everybody has a gun)

In the US, they think Europe sucks big time for weapons.

Some more full auto prices:
FAL 1000-3500 depending type
Uzi 550$
MG42 2000$
Bren 750$
1919BMG 2000$
.50BMG 5000$
M249 12.000$ (expensive)
MAG 8000$
AK47 500$
Glock18 2000$
MP40 1500$
STGW44 2500$
I wish i had my EU-collection, living in the USA...
