Help identifying heavy machine gun tripod.

So at work today a guy brought in a 13.2mm Hotchkiss display gun. It is mounted to the tripod in the picture. I am not 100% sure it is for the Hotchkiss and there doesn’t seem to be much out there info wise. After looking more and more I am thinking this is a maxim tripod. If you would, check out the pics and any ideas would be appreciated

Thanks

Tom

looks like most of the Hotchkiss tripods I have seen back in the day but I'm hardly expert status on these.

You might try posting up on Subguns NFA board or mailing that image to Naess at BRMCCII...bubba will know and he's good folks too

Best there is in the C&R NFA world really.

Yeah, no. That does not look like one. The loops on the back look wrong.

Thanks guys. It actually fits pretty good. Good enough for a static display anyhow. Anyone know where a guy could find the original aa stand?

Thanks

Tom

It is a Finnish Maxim M/21 tripod. Here's mine:

This is what goes on it....in kit form for now at least:

Not sure if you are asking about for the tripod you are showing. If so, it is my understanding that the Finnish M/21 tripods did not have the AA feature. That came along on the M/32 tripod I believe.

No, I know this tripod is basically a ground support deal. IMA is who sold these originally, I believe.they showed the weapon on a really simple AA mount. It looked like a piece of 4 inch tubing with a mount on top, some also had shields. The mg is actually Chilean which I found interesting. I’ll add some more pics soon. I’m thinking this would be a cool piece to add to my ww2 collection. It definitely starts a conversation

Link to ore pics. 2 are the mounts I believe ima built. The third looks like it could have been fabbed as well. Last is a picture of the receiver. Anyone ever dealt with them. I wonder if I could call them up and they would share the plans, as they are no longer doing these?

So what's the deal with that? SARCO was selling ex-Japanese ones awhile back.
