Original K1A1 or K2 Daewoo accessories
Just curious. For those who own the early import guns (prior to the DR200/300 sporterized rifles), what did the rifles originally ship with?
I know that an oiler was in the pistol grip, that there were owner manuals, but were there other factory or S. Korean military items? Daewoo / Korean marked M16 mags, Korean marked military slings, etc.?

I scored a S. Koean M16A1 20 round mag from another forum last night (Korean character marked baseplate) so I figure it'll look good with my soon to be unbanned DR200. I would like to find a ROK military sling, but I'll probably put a M16A1 seatbelt type sling on mine until I can find something better.
I didn't know if the early imported guns came in with Korean marked mags or if the importers just put USGI M16 mags with the guns Stateside.

I found this info in another post here...
"The other accessories for the Daewoo are a belt pouch cleaning kit that is a near identical copy of the US M16A1 cleaning kit the major difference being that the threaded end of the patch holder is turned down to a point so it can be used as a maintenance tool and the pouch just has a loop for the belt, not an ALICE clip. The Korean sling is a close copy of the US M1 Garand green web sling, the Korean bayonet is a copy of the US M-7 M16 bayonet, a US made bayonet will work on the Daewoo." |

I scored a 30rd mag (identical to s0b3's mag he had pictured) today along with a ROK patrol rucksack that has their S. Korean Military combined forces emblem ink stamped on the front. I'll try to chase down a Daewoo factory manual and ROK M7 bayonet next.
I was shocked to find the two mags today, the pack was a bonus. ![]()

I found an 11/2005 (packing date) ROK rifle M16 style cleaning kit today. It has the Korean contractor packing slips showing use for the M16 / K2 / K3.
It was nice to add one more accessory to my Daewoo kit. The search now continues.

There are Korean 30-rounders out there, saw some when I had a K2 years ago.
The Korean sling is nearly identical to the US sling but a little yellowish in the green. Had one of those and sold it with the rifle.

Primarily I am trying to source out a ROK sling, and the K M-7 bayonet in the K-M8A1 sheath. I'd like to eventually find two more Daewoo 30 rd mags but I am patient so I'll find them as I can.
I was dumbstruck just how quickly I found the ROK cleaning kit, along with the 30 rd Daewoo mag and the 20 rd ROK M16A1 mag about a week ago.

That rifle with box and accessories looks sharp! Congrats on getting all of that together. I don't know if you found it this way, or had to find missing pieces, but either way, that is way nice! ![]()

Had a good day, scored the Daewoo clip on bipod and case ( w/ built in wire cutter and can opener), and a K2 gas plug that has the settings marked with Korean letters. I am slowly but surely getting there.
Still no sling or K-M7 bayonet......the search goes on. ![]()

There were a number of Korean slings imported here. Sometimes at gun shows, a seller with a bunch of Garand slings will have one from Korea mixed in with the USGI ones. Last edited by CAR; November 12, 2017 at 18:04. |

Thanks CAR. I had some friends here in the D/FW area that had K-M7 bayonets but they cannot find them to sell to me.
I scored some ROK desert fatigues (Korean "KIM" name tapes, jump wings, corporal rank, velcro'd S. Korean national flag shoulder patches) and a challenge coin from their ZAYTUN peace keeping mission in IRAQ (near Erbil). I'm also searching for ROK mag pouches as well as the sling still to compliment my Daewoo.

If any Daewoo owner needs one I scored a Daewoo bipod from this guy in CA. He has them listed as an M16 bipod but there is no doubt about it, these are the ROK issued bipods like the one displayed by Daewoo Rifleparts on their YouTube video.
I am very happy with this purchase as I figured it would take me a lot longer to find one for sale. Here is the link: https://www.desertfoxsales.com/M16_BIPOD_p/ms-020.htm

Thanks, found it complete and have run 1 mag through it. Pretty sure it was the first rounds out of it since it came from the factory.
