Newb: Desirable receiver?

Non gear logo Imbel. Nice right?

The CAI just refers to the importation? , and, may have , at one time, been on a Century built rifle?

Numbers matching, upper, bolt, & bolt carrier.

Last year it was M14 fever, now this.

Not my feet..........,yet.........

They're as good as any from IMBEL. The CAI mark just is just like a beautiful woman mole next to her twat.

Looks real heavy with that scope and bipod. Ditch the bipod and just hang on to it. What's the butt plate look like? Scope is higher than you want.

Here's her butt.

Scope would go away...........

Wood is aftermarket commercial, I'm guessing.

Imbel upper is gtg. Nice after market wood is gtg. I spy an inch mag. Would you care to post a pic of the forward magwell(locking area) & a pic of the mag? I would trade you a proper FAL mag for your converted L1A1 mag if you are interested.

By ditching bipod he means carefully take it out and bag it until you want to put it back in.

Metric with open ear front sights?

Argie kit build by Century? I have a Century mutt with an Argie open ear front end and one of their "in house" receivers. They called it a "G1 sporter". The thing will shoot however.

It's not Commonwealth...

Open ear GB, that post is not inch. Looks like G1 lower. CAI hand guards, no rear sight... Maybe the reason for the scope?

That looks like a European buttstock that was available some years ago. I think DSA might have been marketing them at one time.

Nice looking rifle!

If that’s an Argy open ear gas block/front sight, isn’t he going to need a tall rear sight?

Good looking rifle.

Yep, I had to slide my rear up to the front to zero at 100yds. Now it wears a scope mounted low on a DSA rail.

ARS has them. I don’t know if it’s the 700 or 600m tall, but my open eared Argy has that white horizontal line.

I would note that Century did also sell these as straight receivers, in addition to using them on their guns. The first receiver I ever bought was similar to yours - non gear logo Century marked R1A1. Bought that one in the summer of 2000 and used it for my first build (Rhodesian kit for $99!)

I can't tell, but does the gun have ban era features? If so, then it's probably a Century build. Nice looking in any case!

OP, topcover is not a DSA model, looks like an AIMSports unit. PM me if you'd like an even lower railed topcover; I've got an as-new ARMS #3 I'd sell...

I remember when you could not give a Century marked IMBEL away on this board. Now they are golden.

Did you retreat into a cabin in the woods for a couple of years like Thoreau to come up with that one?
