Colorado Shooting Competition Cancelled

GRAND JUNCTION, CO - Organizers of the Rocky Mountain Western States Regional IDPA Championship, initially scheduled to take place July 4-6 in Montrose, Colorado, have announced that the match is being canceled in the wake of Colorado's recently passed gun control laws.

An estimated 300-plus shooters from the neighboring states and across the country were expected to attend the three-day competitive shooting event. This is the second shooting competition to abandon the state after a recent announcement by firearms maker Ruger that it was moving the 2013 Ruger Rimfire Challenge World Championship out of Colorado.

That is the ONLY language polifuggenticians understand. Multiply that by 100 or 1000 or 10,000 and they will get the message.

Too bad,,where they gonna go ,who's got ranges set up?

Now all the xtra revenue gonna go elsewhere too

Pray Magpul gets out of Coloradro,,hunters stay away ect......

Doubt that the revenue/tax losses get noticed.

welcome to new mexico, whittington , albuquerque, lots of places here.

from last year, Albuquerque, New Mexico - The City of Albuquerque, the Albuquerque Police Department and the Shooting Range Park are the host for this year's NRA National Police Shooting Championships (NPSC). Serving as such for the past few years, the Shooting Range Park boasts more than firing points on this immaculate range.

"The facilities out here are spectacular," said NRA Law Enforcement Director Glen Hoyer. "Each year our competitors are treated to one of the best ranges in the country. Governor Martinez, Mayor Berry and the Albuquerque Police Department have been extremely helpful in our preparations for the 50th NRA National Police Shooting."

we have better mexican food too.

I'll be calling Rick Perry today about getting the Range issues worked out.
We damn sure have better meskin food here in Texas, we stayed in Albqe
and Las Cruces and the food was not very good. We could help you with that too. Everyone that lives in a free state needs to reinforce their gun
range laws now! We now have a challenge here in Texas to our Range
laws.

Perry has been courting many out of state gun mfg's and accessory makers, Magpul being high on the list.

Actually, we have Tex-Mex, which is better than Mexican anyway.

I was in Dallas for ten days a year ago, and ate as much BBQ and Tex-Mex as I could arrange. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

As embarrassing as it is to say it, the brother who lives there (and his wife) both would rather have Taco-Bell.

cancel IDPA = big loss to Montrose but Denver doesn't care
Magpul leaves = lose some blue collar jobs but Denver doesn't care
Don't hunt CO = big economic impact to Western Slope but Denver doesn't care

Thunderchicken,

You have it correct nobody except folks in Denver knew who now Sen Bennet was before he took office. Denver will use its majority voting block to beat up the rest of the state. Simply look at Illinois for an example of what the future holds.

I'm firmly beginning to believe that large urban centers are more of a blight on a state than anything else.

Omaha and Nebraska is going the same way, there are folks actively fighting it though.

It is clear that 'Denver' has it's head up Obummer's ass, but if enough politicians get recalled, Denver WILL get the message and start to care. The common denominator here being power, and these pukes will abandon Obummer to stay in power. It is up to the rest of Colorado to defeat Denver, we'll see if they have the will to do it.

I'm not sure Taco Bell qualifies as 'food', much less real Tex Mex.

Met some guys from Kentucky years ago, they came down for a shut down in Texas City. they were talking about how they ain't seen so much 'bar be kew' in all their lives as they had seen in Texas. One guy was 'splainin that up where's he's from, BBQ means a brisket cooked in a smoker. But down here (in Texas) he discovered that ANYTHING with BBQ sauce was 'bar be kew', as well as any kind of meat cooked on a pit, outdoor grill, or smoker. Or the broiler pan in an oven if served with the right sides.

I just told him BBQ was pretty much equivalent to the word 'food' down here.

I'm startin' to think we invented Mexicans too,,, or maybe it was visa versa because of lax immigration policies,,, like now.
TexMex don't fly in Guadalajara either,,, it's a acquired taste and Tejanos are known universally for their good taste.
