OK, I need to buy some AK74 mags..

I have two AK74 builds coming up and the only thing left to pick up are mags. What were pre-panic prices?

Currently I see some sanitized flat side Bulgarian 2 pack for $59, plum Arsenal Inc 2 pack for $69, Intrafuse 3 pack for $49....

Searched over at AKFiles for last early Dec and Nov and it looks like surplus Bulgarians were in the $30 range, East German just a little bit higher.

Looks like the ones I have found online aren't that out of line unlike some of the AR stuff.

Stick with the original mags. I have never had any luck with the US made AK mags. The Russian posted a couple links on ID'ing them which also touched on the performance and quality of the various mags. I personally like the orangish ones. I think they may be the East Germans to which you were referring. For some reason they work better in my 74's, with the exception of the few steel Polish mags I have. If you can find some of those grab them as I like em' so if you don't send them my way. .

You know that saying about having to ask, but this isnt that bad a deal is it, even pre-panic buying? I bought my 74 6 maybe 7 years back, mags were maybe 10 dollars a piece and 2 spam cans was around 200 shipped. Been so long since I bought mags and have been considering getting more, this isnt a bad deal is it?

$38each.. It's ok I guess, not the greatest price, I think you can do a little bit better. They are listed as being 80%-100% condition, they are not new.

These days it's not bad, if you think there is going to be a ban buy them for sure.

If you don't think it will happen wait and save $30-$40 bucks in a few months.

Ones I posted were $20 each yea they are Tapco, but they do work fine.
