Pentex Gameseeker
Sportsmans guide has a 4-12X with BDC reticle on sale for 62.99. Are these any good? Could make a good long range varmit scope for my M70.

Ya get what you pay for. Buy once cry once. Look at the Nikon Monarch.
Great scopes for the money. |

For $65, if you can afford it.......give it a try. If it works let us know!!
Actually, I have heard good things about the Pentax line of scopes, think it has a warranty and all as well....maybe a bother to send it for warranty exchange, but you couldn't complain for $65.

I have one on a CZ453 in .17HMR. No real test, but seems to be a great scope for the money. I am not in general a fan of cheap scopes, but this one seems to fit the bill on some rim-fires quite nicely. The glass is very nice for what you are paying. I would expect to pulverize this thing if mounted on something with stout recoil. My uncle has one on a .308 Savage and he has had no issues. Buyer beware. |

I have several on low recoil stuff. They are great for the money. Their warranty is pretty good also.

I have cheap stuff and expensive stuff. I wish I used them long enough and hard enough to have the cheap stuff fail, and the expensive stuff vindicate itself.
Maybe you should give it a try just like an experiment. As an example, I bought a cheap red dot. Used it for a while, and then bought something else more suitable. I was able to loan it to a Marine neighbor who bought an AR15 in the panic, without any sights at all. You don't know where some of your rejects may find a home.

This is my experience with just about everything gun accessory. (As long as it works from the beginning and fits right, that is)
