I am in the Herndon area (NoVA). Here's my story of FAL 'love at first sight'.
I had a problem with my Glock 32 and there was a thread on FALfiles about it (Glock forum). One night after replying to a poster on the thread, I started innocently nosing around the FALfiles site. Before you know it, I had purchased a DSA StG58 from an individual on Marketplace. My next step toward long-term addiction came only 3 weeks later when I thought of searching on VAGunTrader.com using "StG58" for the search term. Unfortunately for my budget, I found an early FN-built StG with an Imbel receiver. My measured response? I bought it. I guess that about sums up my situation for now. I am attempting to exert some self control. Love the FALfiles site for information and entertainment. I would enjoy connecting with other FAL devotees in VA. I am working my way through The FAL Rifle, Classic Edition, but I have lots to learn. I love this rifle. Fortunately, my safe is full preventing further impulse buys. All the best, Bob |

There's quite a few of us here in the Richmond area. We should hold our own FAL mini-fest.

I'm down here in Blacksburg. I am new to the FAL community after picking up an STG-58 built by Imbel. Unfortunately I am currently fighting the urge to "upgrade" it with rails, grip, and stock....

I've watched the DVD. FALs are relatively straight forward unlike say an AK. I moved down here from DC (thanks BRAC) so I have only recently gotten set up with a decent shop space (my garage). I have too many kits to build ! I think I'm going to start with a G1.

I caught the fever almost a year ago. I'm in Newport News. I'd like to shoot a lot more than I do but ammo prices and availability are a little worrisome. Starting to think about reloading.

I'm now down to two FALs in Va Beach, just sold one on GB to a guy in Kansas.
Guess I'll be hanging on to the last two, since they are both Century builds, and everyone it seems avoids them like the plague. Since they run great, and I have had no problems in the five or six years that I have had them, I'll just keep on enjoying them.
