ishapore 2a1 wont chamber round all the way .
so i got this isshapore from aim a while back ,it was so plastered in cosmoline
i didnt shoot it before i tore it down to refinish . all the metal parts had been spray painted black and it was comming off . a friend of mine offered to coat it for me ,i bought it for a shooter . so i redid the stock while he coated it . got it back put it all togther . bolt was really tight on the rail from the coating . bolt will close all the way with no round ,bolt closes almost all the way with a round . cant close it by hand but a rap with a rubber mallet will close it . i thought maybe it had gotten coating in the barrel ,so i polished the chamber . still wont close with a round in the chamber . i am thinking my buddy must have disassembled the bolt to coat it . he got it all back togther but would this have changed the headspace by taking it apart and putting it back together ?

Headspace could well be the issue.
Firing pin protrusion is something you also really do need to check. Especially if you are hammering the bolt closed. Does the serial number of the bolt match the rifle ? And, is the bolt head screwed all the way in to the bolt body ? |

Make sure the bolt head is screwed all the way in!!!!!
When the bolts off you can turn the bolt head off by unscrewing so one turn out could do what your describing. And make sure its all clean and headspaced |

it may have a mismatched bolt head. some had head space issues so there was some bolt swapping going on at one time.

Will a round go into the chamber with just thumb pressure? No bolt, just pushing in with thumb or finger?

Probably the wrong bolt-head right from the importer. Couldn't have been that way from the factory!! LOL HSG and check the bolt-head! Numbered from 0 thru 4, IIRC don't know which fer way they go , tho

Something curious just happened. I received an email saying that Jon Frum had responded to the thread. Usually the text of that response is shown in the email but this just had a link so I clicked the link - http://www.falfiles.com/forums/image...allink_ltr.gif. That just shows me a blue screen with a tiny folder in the middle that is partially open. When I go to the thread, there is no Jon Frum posting after mine, or anywhere in the thread. Weird. Wait, there it is. I'll check the link again. Which turns out not to be the same that was in my email. Still weird.

thanks for all the help , there was coating on the bolt face , on the back of the bolt face where it screws into the bolt , and it was not screwed all the
way in , i removed the coating from the both places and screwed the bolt head in and it feeds with zero problems now . i will pull out the gauges when i get a chance and check it ..
