Did Msar reorganize?
I have always wanted an AUG type rifle and while "surfing" the internet today,I happened upon the "new and improved" Msar website. Which stated they are now on their latest version of their E4 rifle. Does this mean that it is now safe to buy their products again? I was always partial to the AUG with the traditional 4X optic and may actually be considering buying one. Believe it or not, they are even showing that they have developed a 16.5" 300 Blackout barrel group for this rifle, even though it is only a 1 in 7 twist.

They did re-open doors and are selling a new version/generation. Internet chatter is that it is not selling too well. Most people blame the history. I would say there might be a lot of oversupply since (judging by gunbroker) the Aug A3 is not moving fast either.

Is MSAR Microtech? Microtech fame that dates back to Florida with Tony Marfone?

As fas as I know they are the infamous Microtech Small Arms Research company that had so many problems with their own Aug-type design.

Please do your research before purchasing from MSAR. The Steyr AUG A3 and A3CQC are available now by PJS-Steyr.com and you will have no problems with Steyr.

Brother, there isn't anything AUG style available anywhere except on Gunbroken. Pete Athens (PJs) is out and doesn't know for sure what, if any he will get back in from Steyr. Steyr is closed for the holidays and then off to SHOT for 2 weeks. If they don't ship soon, they might not beat whatever Husein Obama puts in place to prevent buying them. If I understand correctly, Athens might have hundreds of buyers on his waiting list
Ratworx is out of Steyrs as well. The vast majority of MSARs were good to go according to Dave Robertson. |

My MSAR E4 has run like a champ since Day One.
It runs just fine w/ Wolf (cheap ammo = lots of practice) as well as brass ammo. Once I installed the Neu-Trigger mod, the trigger ceased to suck. If I had the cash and if I were in the market for one I wouldn't hesitate to buy another MSAR. I realize that my experience w/ MSAR is just that - my experience - but I subscribe to the school that says for every one complaining customer that you read online, there are 100 or 1,000 satisfied customers that you don't read about. Not denigrating the folks claiming that they have a legit problem with their MSARs - they would know their MSAR better than I - but mine has been awesome right from the get-go. As in all things internet-related, YMMV; but that's mine. Pax, Ed For The Record: Aside from being a customer, I have zero connection with MSAR in any way, manner, shape, or form.

I have an early STG556 and mine is awesome! Very nice machine work, runs flawlessly! Eats any kind of ammo I feed it, I just set the gas port to the adverse setting with Wolf. I have heard the 42 round mags dont feed well but I only have one of those and rarely use it, but have noted no problems with it. The only gripe I had was the trigger and I put one of those trigger pull improver thingies in it and its much better. Not the gun I will grab when the zombies come (SCAR 17S for that!) but certainly not a bad little rifle.
