Plenty of info out there if you look. There are some suspect years in the headstamps but I forget the bad ones.

1970s dates are good surplus (maybe tarnished).
1990's and 2000's are salvage and should not be shot. I have not seen enough 1980s to know if it was surplussed or scrap salvage.

1970's and 1980's are safe to shoot but filthy. And I mean filthy!
I don't know about 2000's but I do know that 1990's is the worst production ammo on the planet! I've got 70's, 80's, and 90's ammo and I've put a lot of bullets down range that shouldn't have been fired and I'm scared to put the 90's stuff through a bolt gun much less a semi automatic. |

.50 a round?!?!
![]() I found two 400 round cases of '75 on banodliers in my shop last week. I don't ever remember buying that crap. There's another auction on GB with two days left fro 640 rounds. It's up to .40 a round already. I guess I need to sell this junk. I'm not shooting it.

I had 2000rnds of the 90's production and it was pure sh*t. Probably every 3rd round was a misfire or delayed firing and then came the case-head seperations.
Stay away from it! |

The 70's stuff is GTG.
$.50 a round is a pretty good deal IMHO as the brass is reloadable and that makes the case worth about $.15 to $.20 after it's fired meaning you're only paying $.30 a round to shoot it.
