CZ 550 Varmint in 308
Anybody shoot one of these?
I'm interested in chamber dimensions and barrel dimensions. i.e. Tight or loose chamber, long leade / throat, bore and land dimensions etc. Also, how long is the magazine. |

My wife shoots one.
I haven't measured the leade, or bore dimensions. The magazine will take a cartrige loaded with a 175gr match king at book length (2.8") and that's about it. The wood stock had some metal to wood contact in the barrell channel that neaded to be relieved. Other than getting her 100 yard zero we haven't messed around with any short range bench rest stuff. To date, her best group at 1,000 meters is 18". (10 rounds 175 grain SMK from the magazine) |

What's the trigger like?
A while back I took a hard look at the factory heavy bbl bolt guns. The CZ Tactical 308's trigger was universally lamented by heavy shooters. The complaints were about failures and crappy quality, not just poor feel. Surprised me. No known replacement, then. |

Outstanding information there Texasbubba...just the sort of stuff I was looking for.
1,000 meters? 18"? I can't SEE that far without high powered optics anymore. Thanks for the replies, guys... |
